A native has recommended this pub:
http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Cambridgeshire/Cambridge-315845/Restaurants-Cambridge-Fort_St_George-BR-1.html
sounds good and not too far from the ground
I'll be in there from around 2pm

"The refurbished building is nice, but the food was cold and overpriced.

The staff I found were slow and uninterested and a foul mouthed man in the pub which i though was a local drunk turned out to be the landlord.

Avoid at all costs especially if you are with loved ones or children.

Couldn't tell you the food was too nasty to eat.

There's a satisfied customer. Opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one, some appealing and some grotesque.

God damn, I wish I was going. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.....

The only time I've been out drinking in Cambridge was on the way home after Colchester.
I made the mistake of standing right behind the goal, just in front of the locals who infilitrated the away end. Couldn't believe the polices' response, they just politely escorted them back to the correct end without a word of rebuke.
I think I still have the bruises!!.
Anyhow, I remember drinking the best Flowers I have ever tasted at a pub called The Bath. Whether or not it's still there is another matter.
