I am yet to speak to Grahame Rowley/ any club officials about this however i am sure it should not be a problem.

This summer me and a couple of friends are going to walk the breadth of scotland (Inverness to Fort William) down the Great Glen and then climb Ben Nevis. From here we are going to travel to the Isle of Skye and hike around the mountains. Before this however we are going to climb Scafell Pike and Snowdon. So over all we will be walking nearly 200 miles, climbing over 4,000 metres (just under half the height of Mount Everest) and will be taking pictures along the way, displaying the Alty shirt at the top of all three mountains.

This trip is going to go ahead anyway but as i am definately doing it I thought getting sponsorship to raise funds for the club during the closed season would be an added bonus.

Anybody willing to sponsor me?

It depends on space and stuff. We will be carrying everything we need for 2 weeks wild camping. If i have room then yes but will let you know. We are doing Scafell Pike first, doing it in 2 days but taking all the equipment as though it was for 2 weeks (masochistic? I think so  ) so i will let you know after then.

I have sent a message to Grahame Rowley about this so the club is now aware that it will be going ahead. I will print of a couple of sponsorship forms and take them to the torquay match next week as i cant make it to Grays. Will be in the bar before the game and very probably after too. I'll take them to most home games up to it as well.

The dates have been finalised as well so:

Scafell Pike is going to be done on the 14th/15th of April

Snowdon 2nd/3rd May

And, depending on how long it takes us to walk from Inverness to Fort William, Ben Nevis will be done around the 11th/12th July.

Gazelle, I am trying to persuade one of the other people going (a keen geographer) to climb Sgurr Alasdair however he is unsure of doing that. Still twisting his arm tho.

its worth it camp at the bottom in glen brittle . That girl from Ilkley may still be there and you can go for a snog in her caravan . mind you she'll be 50 now
