Good players will progress up the ladder. They only stop once they either reach their level or reach the top.  For years we were the top for part time so a stable team from year to year was possible. Now we are the bottom of the full time ladder so most players we keep for years will be those not capable of moving up (of course the will be a couple of exceptions but not a team full and not for years - see colclough, Toby etc)  loans is part of the strategy and will be for some time. We need to get used to it. Although hopefully not quite as many as this year if we get the permanent recruitment right

Absolutely. If we want to be hugely optimistic we could hope to get him on a similar deal but I suspect he’s proved himself at this level and will be loaned out to a local EFL team next year

How late was Hancock in the playoff vs Blythe?

Rule is drop hall at feet of team in possession when whistle went. Opposition at least 4m back I think. Even if you do over react to the hall hitting someone it’s not hard to check who has the hall when you blow the whistle

Back to the game today and I thought we played pretty well. E Jones was superb going forward and defensively. We should have won but for gifting them a head start and the unbelievable decision not to award a penalty when the defender not only booked the shot with his arm but then lay on the floor holding the ball in his arms until he realised ref hadn’t given the pen so he let go of it and somehow still got away with it.

Ref was ok until last 15 minutes when he lost the plot after stoping play because their player smacked a free kick straight into his mates face, ball rebounded to us. No need to stoop play for that and then restarted play with ball at their feet. Two of the most bizarre bits of refereeing I’ve seen for a long time.

Osbourne is too slow for this league. I’d rather start linney than hugill

To be fair their average was about 15. Really annoying throughout

That’s c£1000 a seat for that stand. You’ve got to be able to better than that surely?

How on earth can we go from easily dispatching Woking and Barnet, to this?

I have my ticket for Saturday but really fear the worse.

What does the keeper need to do to get dropped?

Those two lost to Oldham and dorking tonight so maybe not the stellar results we thought they were. Performance was miles apart though

I stand corrected. I was sat in that stand roughly level with the ref and it looked at least 5 yards off live. Geometry is hard!

As bad as Linneys miss / failed pass to Sinclair was the decision not give him offside was worse. I thought it looked miles off live and it was!

Not going to talk about the rest

MWH being out gives us a loan spot free

Don’t want to risk injury / exhaustion due to this match influencing title race so one from each club keeps it “fair” in terms of league impact with everyone having so many games

I’d play maxi over bennet. Not sure where he was playing yesterday. Was he really at 10? With osbourne behind him he kept getting dragged backwards or he was supposed to be behind osbourne at 10 and kept pushing forwards.

Agree with the rest though assuming all fit, including keeper but I think Gould is out on loan isn’t he?

I was stood near where jordan went down before coming off. Looked like cramp / frustration at ref giving him no protection from getting clattered that made him ready to come off rather than an injury that would keep him out.
