Errrrm yer wasnt the best game, defence wasnt at the races, reeves was pretty quite, young lads Brooke and Mitchley opened it up as much as the game allowed but the service wasnt there today from the midfield. Not gonna read to much into it.

I CAN comment on our performance. It was verging on poor. Lee will "demand a reaction". He's not the only one. It may have been a cunning ploy to fool the visitor from Brackley, but.......

Rodgers was absolutely woeful. Pass completion about 25% if I'm generous. Phelan has to learn that running vendettas with opponents are stupid. Richman was ineffective. Clee is wasted at full back (not seen a single long throw pre season - ribs still a problem ?). Densmore was like a headless chicken in midfield though was OK at full back. I remember Brooke coming on, but not much else. I love Buzz to bits, but he lost Rica on the second goal. Reevesy is some way off the pace yet.

Good points ? Havern and Hall are a decent pairing, Lawrie was outstanding, Lacey is useful and has a great engine. And Danny Mitchley played really well when he came on.

Still, better to be garbage tonight, and do the business in nine days time.......hopefully.

For me FC United simply wanted it more and too many of our lads were under par.

Thought Phelan and Densmore did OK first half and Lacey looked useful, apart from that nothing else to report at all.

Credit to FC United who look to have a tidy side and they thoroughly deserved the win.

Wouldnt have gone overboard with a win so not going to with a loss but that was not an enjoyable night at all!

For me, the worrying thing is that I thought tonight was an opportunity to send out a statement of intent, especially in light of the fact we finalised our playing squad well over a week ago.

Hopefully this was just a bad night at the office, and our last one of those for quite some time!

I agree with most of Taxi Phils asseent apart from Lawrie. Saturday he was the best player on the pitch,yesterday he was woeful. As last season he's so inconsistant you just dont know what your going to get

Nick Clee is one of our most creative players. him and doughty should be boming hat left wing whipping in the crosses. Oh and on a seperate note, theres a proven target man looking for a club thats training with Knaresborough town to keep his fitness levels up, should any wage budget become available...
