Right winger

Newby is a huge loss, I was confident we would sign him FT.

Fitted our style play better than Mooney, clever player who scored us goals.

Just when everyone felt much better about our first 11 we receive another blow.

Jackson, Kaja just can't stay fit and I am not convinced either fit our style of interchange attacking football.

All our front players have looked much more confident with Newby. Linked up with Con-Clarke so well and got into dangerous positions.

Really important we find the right replacement as a matter of urgency. Con-Clarke is half the danger out wide, so need to keep him no.10.

Who is realistically available.....? I have no idea.

What's the latest re Kossy? Getting him back would be nice.

Won't see him this season, was the last update.

Talking of injuries it was nice to see Joel Senior on the bench for Carlisle last night

For the time being, I suspect we'll push CCC out wide and bring Elliott Osborne into No10.

Definitely wouldn't be averse to bringing Bennett back, but we all remember having him and CCC in the same team didn't really work as they're too similar.

Chris Senior could play out wide at a pinch. Is he available? Where is he nowadays?
PS. He's only 4 years older than CR7.

Another option would be bringing someone like Harry Perritt in to sit at the base of the midfield, push Lundstram and Marriott slightly further up the pitch, push CCC out wide, and play in more of a 4141 style - but it wouldn't be like Parky to change the system midway through the season (in fact, has he ever really changed his system at all?)

Elliott brought goals as well as assists. That sort of player doesn't come around very often. I don't know if Dan Mooney has been paid by Southend or whether or not he is in favour there, but that's where salvation could be moving forward.

I was a huge fan of Dan Mooney and was really sorry to see him go - but I have a hunch that it wouldn't work if he ever came back.

Plus he'll be one of Southend's bigger earners; I genuinely don't think we would be able to afford him.

I suppose a lot depends on the context behind their return.

Dan Mooney would be returning with his tail between his legs because his move didn't work out - which isn't the premise upon which we should be signing him.

On the other hand, Josh Lundstram came out of choice; Elliot Newby left a boy and returned a man. It's all completely case-by-case isn't it.

A lot also depends on their existing relationship with the rest of the lads - I still see former players interacting with our current lads on social media etc.
