For what its worth my starting eleven for Tues would be:

Coburn
Densmore
Williams
Smith
Brown
Denham
Lawton
Danylyk
Clee
and two from Reeves, McCarthy and Twiss

9 of those lads were in the squad last season... Twiss was at Morecambe for most the season ffs.

Sit them down and tell them they are still good enough to compete in this year.. Then send them out there to run there fkn hearts out for the manager, the fans, and ALTY FC

That way we have half a fkn chance against Barrow.

I find it hard to fathom out why that we have gone from mid table to a fkn basement team in 9 games.

Cmon Alty

Will prob be there on Tues, but tempted not to bother to watch more dross

It is exactly at times like this that you SHOULD be there. It's what supporting your club is about. I've seen us through some pretty bad spells in the last 57 years, but I don't think I've ever felt as depressed so early in a season as I do right now. But I'll be there, I'll be trying to encourage the lads - and God knows we need it it from EACH AND EVERY ONE of you ! ! !

Here here Phil.... Get your f**king arses off the couch turn off your fkn computers  and get to moss lane on tuesday....

its time for EVERYONE to stand up and be counted....

Cmon ALTY

Carlton Palmer must be an applicant

Or even Roger Palmer !
or Harry Palmer!

Be better with a management team of Huntley & Palmer  ;D

That really WOULD take the biscuit!

I am having trouble DIGESTIVEing that post  :D

We should get that Italian Manager >>> Gari Baldi

I'll get me coat

I for one am genuinely sorry to see you go Grahame but if as reported you didnt have the enthusiasm and drive to re-build yet another squad then I respect you for that..

Best wishes to you and yours and hope to see you again soon..

Whoever takes over will not better you as a compare at the dinners, Unless Frankie Boyle takes over as manager   ;)

Good luck

Ray & Jill Sant

One of AF biggest failings is that he does not respect the "Lesser" teams in any competition and that is where Utd come unstuck and drop quite a few points/get knocked out of competitions...

Agree with Jezza...

We all know people have had their own reasons for staying away, and all though its not somthing i agree with, sticking to your principles is a personal choice.I know plenty who havent attended in recent years read this forum. Please return from the cold.Whatever your reasons,a new era has begun. We have a massive battle on our hands folks,we ALL need to unite and pull together to stay in this league.Dust down your scarves and get to moss lane on tuesday,we can turn this around if we all pull together

Pity the above paragraph couldnt be posted in the MEN and Messenger.

With regards to fans having an effect on players/teams... In the case of clubs like Alty i think the fans have quite a significant impact...  given the close proximity of fans to the pitch and the smaller crowds, when somebody shouts something either positive or negative then the chances that the person it is aimed at will most certainly here it..

I often shout things to players of both sides and you do get the odd comment or a V flicked back as a response from an opposition player which usually brings a smile to my face..

The times I get annoyed is when you shout something at a ref and he has that smug look on his face which is basically telling you that he heard the comment and whether or not it was right there is sweet FA you can do about it  ...

If you are in the bigger stadias such as OT or the Emirates etc then you will be lucky if the fkn guy sat next to you will hear it never mind the players....

I definitely think that the crowd/atmosphere can affect the outcome in various ways, be it geeing up the players to perform from set pieces, influencing the decisions of the ref and liner, or causing mistakes in the opposition.

How many times have you seen a player booked for seemingly nothing because the opposition fans have made a racket... far too often unfortunately.

The "12th man effect" is particularly relevant for instances like penaties etc... could be part of why the majority of pens in the Prem League are given to the home side?! I read somewhere that Feyenoord actually dedicated their number 12 shirt to the fans one season.

If you read the recent Mansfield Home programme you will notice that they do the same

Feeling a bit numb and sad at present.
Good luck Grahame and thanks for all you did for Alty FC...

In my opinion we don't want any ex players etc as the new manager, Just because these ex players were good players does NOT automatically make them decent managers especially if they havent had any experience. ....

Having said that I think that it is only fair and right  for Kenny Mc to take over as temp manager he knows the club, knows the current players and has had experience..

If I am honest I do not think that bringing Colin Little back is a progressive move...

I prefer Ex players to remain just that... and remember them for the good they did on the pitch on there day...
