Altrincham FC First Team / Re: didnt play well today but
« on: October 05, 2010, 08:09:08 AM »
We started and finished the game superbly. Pity about the 70 minutes in the middle. We could have been two or three goals down by the time we finally levelled it.

Singularly unimpressed with Crowell, Joseph, and Holsgrove. Robbie Lawton's penalty gaffe was unbelievable - pity because he played well otherwise. Thought Danylyk was a bit off the pace today, and we really need Densmore in the middle of the park instead of so deep.

On the plus side Nicky Clee was magical (but wasn't seeing enough ball for long periods), Denham and Reeves look a natural pairing for that first period when we were on top, James Smith had his usual solid game - but for me he wasn't Man of the Match.

Even before he got us out of jail, Robbie Williams was far and away the best player on the pitch. When he first joined us, an experienced pro like Tim Sills would have taken him to the cleaners. Today, it was easy to forget that Sills was even out there !

Very good summary.

I agree, watch out Flynny Phil will be after your job :D

..................& why not? It is a plum position.£8,000 a week......car.....expense account............private health insurance..........share options.......& once or twice a week  a 90 minute time window of opportunity to hurl abuse at some knobsock of a referee.I particularly enjoyed  Saturday as the ref was biting back at me as he entered the tunnel after the game!

Its nice to know I have cover on the other side of the ground Flynnie

 :D

This: Liverpool   1 - 2   Blackpool

or this...
    Team           P  GD  PTS
18 Liverpool    7   -4     6
19 Wolves       7   -5     5
20 West Ham  7   -9     5

I know its nowt to do with Alty, but the next time Robinho Lawton bumps into Stevie G he can ask "'Are you still kicking a ball about?"
[/b]

And the answer may be "Yeah were playing Preston next Saturday"  :D

We wasnt  good yesterday but surely getting a point being poor is better than getting sweet FA....

Once Ken is confirmed as boss we may well see a change in personnel.

Buzz cant be far off being ready to comeback....

We were off the pace all over today and a shadow of our recent games...

That lump of a forward Howe ran the show without actually having to do much running.  We seemed reluctant to get stuck into him.. I bet Barney's eyes would have lit up if he popped in to his chippy before their journey back to Neanderthal land...  ;)

Still the never say die attitude got us another point...

Time to give Kenny Mc the job and let him put his stamp on the team....

Onwards and Upwards

Cmon Alty....

Macca just don't look as if he's got a goal in him and a striker that doesn't score...  Do we need a Gary Birtles?

Certainly NOT if he is commentating on a game (fkn awful)  ;)

I think when push comes to shove then Matty Crowell isnt up to it...

Its a shame really because the vast majority of us guys on here were really glad to see him come back

Come on Matty ...... Prove me wrong (again)

Pre season I thought Joseph may have been an asset to Alty.

Sadly yet again I have been proven wrong...

He never jumps when he goes to head a ball and is a liability ...

Taxi for Joseph........

hahahaha it can`t be that high mate because I am not in it. Not even certain to be there tomorrow.

Believe one of my lads balloons has been found in Africa and the other has been spotted over the Indian ocean! It will have to land quickly now to count.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thats a mistake.. It should read "Spotted over the Indian Take away in Alty"   ;)

Maybe this has happened in the past but if moss lane wasn't available for a home game for some reason where would we play? I know we've been moved to Maine road before but what about now, hayward road! Edgeley park :0

Why would it not be available? We only played elsewhere in FA cup games to get a bigger crowd and more money, when we draw MUFC in the 3rd round in Janueary, I think we should play them at OT. ;D

Only after we come back from 2-0 down to draw with them at Alty  ;)

I like both keepers but I would like Coates to command his area more. He does seem a bit indecisive sometimes... (well I think he is)  ;)

I agree that it's great to see us go for it...most notable was the keeping a striker up when we are defending corners....something we've nearly all been crying out for for years.

But can we please just enjoy it, move forward and not keep harping back to try and win petty fkn brownie one up man ship points?...or shall we compare this with how better it is than the stan allen era?

If ken can sort out the defence we are going to go places....either way yes it is exciting......but lets not live in the past coz it makes you sound like a right old fuddy duddy with a very sad grudge.

Good post.. Whats been before has now gone

no point in looking back

Onwards and Upwards folks

Cmon ALty

...and it certainly wasn't the mighty Kettering.

Stuck record now but the post starts the same.  Work to be done but my God, you can't fault the effort.  They just don't give up.

Kettering had pace and lots of it going forward and a great finisher in that JP guy.

It was ridiculous that we were powering forward at 3-3 and had two chances to win it and corners..

The whole team deserve praise.  It was just sheer hard work and Kenny tactics that got us through.

As for Kettering, I hope they leave half of their tedious fans in there when they bulldoze it.

I've never been called a "scouse bastard" before.  Fat bastard, ugly bastard yes  but never scouse.

At last we get one up on fans like that with their going down chants.

I hope they give Maison the job full time...its one less relegation place to worry about.

Well done Alty.

It wont take much bulldozing to flatten that fkn place... When I walked under the stand to climb the steep stairs to the stand with steep steps it was like walking through Dresden after the fkn war... Rubble everywhere. I am sure I saw a couple of German refugees under the stand. (or maybe they were two stewards)..

I thought FGR was a sh*thole but Wreckingham road surely runs it close these days...

As for the game...  Superb fighting effort yet again to gain a well deserved point and we were on top after we had equalised for the 3rd time..  There left back (Taylor) must have twisted blood this morning as Chris Denham turned him inside out on numerous occassions..

To be fair they were good up top but there mid field and defence were nothing to shout about..

If I am honest we did look a bit shakey at the back on numerous occassions but I am sure that can be put right.. The new lad should be ok once he has had chance to train with the squad...

65 of us there last night a decent turnout for a damp dank tue night,,,

R&D are next to come calling....

Onwards and Upwards
