The BBC sport website had a good summary of the rule on spear tackling. Basically if you lift a player and drop him on his head your shoulders it is a red card. Once I had seen the tackle on the news I couldn't understand why anyone felt the decision was harsh, that's the rules.

Might I venture to suggest that this indicates Football (Soccer) is not the only sport where the pundits either don't know the Laws or choose to pretend not to in order to maximise controversy and "Official Baiting"?

And the Vauxhall Motors report quoted on the official website states, "With Coburn being last man, in the laws of the game the keeper should have been sent off ...".

Can you please point me to the page in the Rothman's Football Yearbook where this particular "law" is written?

Nor (possibly more importantly) does that particular phraseology appear in the Laws of Association Football
