Depending on Saturday's result, what positions do we need players for next season.

Think we only need 2-3 but feel we would be better with players with National experience. Possible another winger or defender?

Thoughts?

So very very sorry to hear of the death of Mike Farrelly, as reported on Alty's twitter account just now.

Remember him for the goal in particular against Runcorn in the 1986 FA Trophy Final.

Rest in peace Mike, and commiserations to all your family and friends. I can still feel the crowd surge forward carrying me 4 rows down when he scored, and my wife trying to grab me!!

Just heard the news that one of my favourite rock-bands, Rush, have just lost their supremely talented drummer to brain cancer, Neil Peart. Gutted by the news, anybody else here a fan of Rush like me.

Apologies for putting on our site, know it's nothing to do with Alty, but very sad at this news, superb drummer and also the band's lyricist.

Hi All, does anyone - or can the club - advise if Alty are doing half-season tickets this year? I am in the market for one as a Christmas present from my family.

Any reports on how Shaun Densmore is? Was watching during half time and noticed he was trying to play a pass when another ball hit his heel and sent him over. Not sure if he pulled a ligament but he was down for a while. Hope he is ok?

Anybody know on here or from the club what may happen with the above, they all looked good on Saturday. Wondered if they will be signed or if decisions were going to be made after the next friendly?

Can anybody advise at this stage if Radio Robins are planning to cover our first friendly on Saturday?

I am not sure whether to go to the game and may drive, or whether to listen on Radio Robins.

Stuck at home between jobs at present and fancy getting out for a while.

The first 15 minutes of the game yesterday, we got hit by a whirlwind! My first thought was, they play the game like we do. On the ground and by moving the ball and making it do the work. Both teams were a joy to watch last night. Despite the result I watched some great football from both sides. For 15 minutes we were overwhelmed, but for 75 minutes we weren't. We had several chances to score last night and it was good to see us making Crewe work hard and putting them under pressure. We learnt a lot last night and I imagine Crewe probrably did as well.

I do not think we will face anything like that in our league this season, but there are several hard games we will be playing and that is where I think we will benefit from last nights game.  It was nice to hear a ripple of applause at the end of the match. This was a good workout for the team, and despite the first 15 minutes, they matched a good league 2 side for the rest of the game. I liked the look of the new player who was the substitute number 3 later in the game, plus Sean Miller.  I know we need a new keeper, but is there any room for those two? I hope so.

I think both Crewe and Alty will have good seasons, they both play similar standards of the game. Really looking forward to this season, and also to our friends Trafford on Tuesday.
