There will probably be some odd rule that the Cheshire dinosaurs made up that you have to be signed 4 months before the game or something.

Isn't there a a rule about being registered before the last round?

He would probably be eligible on the same basis that a number of youth players were eligible for the final last season, i.e. that he has been registered with the Cheshire FA as an Alty player at whatever level.
