BARROW AFC defender Matt Flynn is recovering at home after an operation on a fractured cheekbone.

The 23-year-old went under the knife on Saturday, after suffering the injury in Barrow's final pre-season game against a Bolton Wanderers XI on Friday August 3.
Flynn said: "They drilled into the side of my head and and put a plate in below my eye because basically they said there was no cheekbone left there.
"I'm glad it's done, though it is still painful at the moment.
"It will be another two weeks before I can get back to doing some training on the bike and probably about another six weeks until I can play football."

He'll never get back in at barrow, 4 months out minimum, clubs can't wait that long in the BSP, ask Matt doughty.
