Ginnelly racially abused?
« on: March 12, 2016, 08:14:01 PM »

Barrow Police have tweeted asking for any information, Barrow themselves have acknowledged the tweet and expressed their shock and disappointment.

Anyone see or hear anything? Bad that.

I was there , and when Josh was visibly upset standing by the corner flag I went down to have a word with him ( I have just posted a separate thread on this ).  He was very emotional, I won't repeat his words for his privacy, but safe to say that he had been racially abused by the neanderthals in the covered stand.

Glad it's being looked at, hope someone gets the book thrown at them. But what are the chances??

Absolutely disgusting.

No doubt a mindless minority but doesn't reflect on a town already regarded as backwards

Hope the culprits are identified and appropriate action taken

It doesnt matter a jot which ground or which club are known to be racist. It's bang out of order for anyone to racially abuse another person. I hope the pondlife that are guilty of this have the book thrown at them.

I have spoken to Barrow Police and told them what I know, which is only Josh's reaction and words when I spoke to him. Don't think it will make any difference, but I hope the morons get their just desserts

Wish I knew something so I could help. There is absolutely no excuse for abusing someone on race grounds, or gender, sexuality or whatever else. I sincerely hope they catch the pond life and throw the book at them.

Steady on. These are allegations here, nothing has been proven and unless someone can come on here and say for certain that they heard it then we shouldn't be using terms like "culprits."

Why not?

Was the lad lying then? Or is the fan he spoke to lying?

This incident happened and the culprits do need to be identified. And when they are, regardless of who they support they should be punished. Its pathetic, and only a complete moron believes that skin colour is the basis for a comment directed at someone with the intention to offend or judge.

Rest assured I am not lying, why the hell would I get involved in something like this otherwise? Josh was genuinely gutted by what he heard, I've been around long enough to recognise that. The police called me to say that investigations are 'ongoing' ...whatever that means. I'm sure if they had someone for it then it would have happened by now, the longer it goes then the less chance there is I guess.
Just hope Josh gets over it and moves on, no-one should have to put up with that.
