Although the attendance may be reduced substantially by the appalling chaos at Gatehouse Lane. According to the Laidlarmeister:
"Early work on the guided bus scheme in Histon is causing road chaos. A Histon shop owner has claimed that too few diversion signs were put up to warn drivers... As a result the 16-week project to create a new level crossing in Gatehouse Lane has got off to a disastrous start... cars turning down the road at the junction with High Street and School Hill don't know the road is now closed... cars and lorries have been forced to do dangerous three point turns on the narrow lane... A county council spokeswoman said: 'We have put up 20 signs in Cottenham, Histon, Impington and near the A14 warning motorists about the work, but if people want us to put up further signs then we will do our best'".
I have long suspected that the concept of a guided bus scheme was a recipe for disaster.
Put some more signs up! That's what I say.
