aslong as you can laugh a mistake off it's fine (doubt anyone will slate you) eg. starting "find me and follow me" when colin isn't playing and youve just had a 30 minuet convo in the york bar about the fact that he isnt starting  :-[

I'm going and will start a few, and join in all the rest.

If you're worried about starting a song, tell your mates/the people you're next to what song you're going to start just before you do and make sure they're going to join in.

That way you're guaranteed not to be on your own so you can start with more confidence, and people are more likely to join in 'cause there's already a few signing.
