Tonight
« on: January 27, 2009, 11:33:56 AM »

There was a post before the Northwich game was abandoned about trying to generate a better atmosphere at home games, hopefully with there not being a home game for so long everyone will ahve a lot of pent up noise to be released. Regardless of whoever starts a song we should make the effort to join in!!

Also there was a post recently about opening the popular side right up to the far corner (and have rid of the fencing that was up at the Burton home game) which i think is very improtant as thats where we always generate the best atmosphere.

COME ON ALTY!!!

I like it when he hunts down an oppostion player and calls him a mercenary.  In his element then  ;)

Not sure why this thread has turned into an attack on Hughsey?

Suggest you start all the songs tonight Jenga..doubt Pete will bother now.

Just seen this bit from Lewis..quite right

My point was that its usually the same faces that do it....it doesn't matter who starts them as long as they get started.

I'm certainly not attacking Pete, just having a laugh!
Presume Jim will also be there starting off songs. I won't because i'm not a fan of standing in the Golf Rd and prefer the view from the side.

sh*t.........we're all gonna have to get behind Hughsey starting the tunes, plus anyone else who wants to start a tune (wish i had the balls but don't)

Remember a game this season when none of the main singers were there and it actually felt uncomfortable (how northwich must feel every week)!!

Come on Alty!!!!!!

? Not attacking mate, far from it. Just having a laugh and joke and a bit of pre match banter, about a comment someone made who's name I have no idea. It is just a long standing joke and a bit of humour.

Edit - * in fact if i remember correctly you have also had a bit of laugh at the same joke and indeed hughsey has.

Ah well lets put the handbags away hehehe - whatever happens i will be singing -  cya later Mr Ecky man :-)

We made good noise at Histon with very few singers so it is possible.

People should not feel embarrassed or inhibited about starting songs - stand near the singers and sing your heart out! I remember feeling really nervous when I first used to start songs as a teenager, in fact I remember standing with the singers for the first time aged about 12 and thinking I would be asked to move by the older lads!

Standing and singing with the lads is definitely what I miss the most each week.

I must admit there are some 'booming' voices that seem scared to start a song, my voice isn't that loud but at Burton I was constantly getting tapped on shoulder saying "Start a song" (no names mentioned), I reckon I started well over half the songs but I am not there every week and I hope 'others' were just havin a rest and letting me get back in the swing of it and giving me a go.. ha ha..

I will never forget when I first did the "GIVE ME AN A"  and coughed halfway through, if anything made the songs easier since then cos got the 'cock up' out the way...

As I say ..  If Nasha can start songs then everyone can  ;D ;D ;D

I have heard 7year olds singing 'come on alty' at the front of the Golf Road and then everyone behind joining in so the motto for tonight is ...
"If you sing it, others will follow" !

COME ON ALTY !!!
