For a momemt I thought we hadn't got an existing midfielder who played in excess of 50 games last season. That said Danylyk seems to be the forgotten man at present. No doubt we'll see how things progress in the next 24 hours.

The slight downside is that for all Danylyk's unquestionable hard-work and tough-tackling, he's simply not as good as Crowell. Apart from anything else, the lad is glacially slow.

Shaun into the middle of the park with a back four of Smith, Williams, Young and Doughty would be my choice.

Perhaps if Danylyk sees some match action he might be afforded the luxury of surging forward a la Crowell but I suspect he looks after his defensive responsibilities a thing that certainly was lacking with Crowell.

Is this a wind up?

I know we're all gutted he's gone but I don't think it warrants inventing reasons why we're glad he's gone!

Too true as always, saw once and only at Hayes and he looked like a massive addition to the squad.

Its Alty life however, were we minted we could attract and keep great players. Not all play for the shirt like others, its real life.

As many will say, football is a game of opinions and you have yours and I mine. From my observations , and in my own opinion, defensively Crowell left the  team exposed on several ocasions not least at AFC Wimbledon.

He and Kearney was looking like the most effective midfield partnership we've had in ages. I don't think there's any way we can put a positive spin on this news.

I'd really likes us to get a loan player in, but it's hard to get good quality on loan.

Perhaps a phone call to a certain Mr Barrow is in order?  ;)

I can imagine it now. "Alright Graham. The boy Rodallega looks like he needs a few extra games..."  :D

Unreal, Crowell and Kierney have been immense. That is part if not THE reason we have had a good start to season.
