If you're fit enough and can demonstrate sufficient ability to trap and pass a ball, enough nouse not to pose a safety risk to the others players on the pitch, then why not? £250 buys you a place in the team for the first half, £200 for the second half (you don't have the kudos of being in the starting team).

Before you slag the idea off, think about what NY was doing. He'd sign a bloke up, pay him and then realise they weren't good enough. What I'm proposing filters out the total duffers and raises some funds.
The only issue I can see is a charge of bringing the game into disrepute but given the criteria to play we have a strong case.
