Altrincham FC First Team / Good news for Alty and Vics
« on: March 26, 2009, 02:11:26 PM »
HMRC has adjourned the winding-up meeting into May..............gives Vics time to try and sort stuff out, but more importantly means they cannot be liquidated before the end of the season - thus depriving us of 6 points !!

Liquidation could have been a serious option open to HMRC - and who could blame them considering the amount still owed, the clubs track record on repayments and no obvious viable business plan going forward into Conf North

Half time now
Goals were down to two defensive errors
They've had one shot
Coburn was injured in a late tackle and was down for about 5 mins but seems ok now
Good atomsphere - lots of alty singing

A lot of goals come from defensive errors in many games ........so what - you make it sound like we created nothing. Dale did brilliantly to keep the ball in play (just to the left of the keepers LH post) and with an outstretched leg 'hook' it into the 6yd box to give Col an easy head in for the 1st goal.

Laney's strike for the second was good too. He could have put it over the stand.

So how far from the Station (tram stop) is this other pub ? Is it in the direction of the ground ?

What happened last Sat ? FG cant hit a barn door usually !

Its 5 mins from the station on the way to the ground.

As for Saturday - we don't talk about that!

The Bridge is 5 mins from the tram / railway station...........but keep walking down Moss Lane for another 5 minutes and you will reach the bar at the ground (where there will be people happy to tell you all about the FGR game !!)

Ref ok tonight on the whole..............he gave them most of the decisions though when it came to the little pushes and pulls i.e it's always ok to 'bully' Dale, but it's a free kick if he gives the same back.

Their goal did come from one of these debatable decisions, although the free kick was well inside the Torquay half at the time.............then again as someone said in the bar, if play had continued, we would have had the ball, and then the whistle would have probably gone a few seconds later with the scores at 0-0

Stop having a go at Col

Who was having a go at Col?

The strikers are quite seriously under-performing collectively, unless you consider 34 goals in 35 games to be an acceptable goal tally?

This problem needs to be addressed immediately otherwise it's going to cost us dear.

"This problem needs to be addressed immediately otherwise it's going to cost us dear"...............just what immediate action do you suggest ?

The attendance tonight for a mid table team Vs a top of the table Conf (ex-league) side was just over 700 something.........should we go and buy Daryl Clare in the morning, or maybe see if Stevenage want to sell us Morrison ?

I agree the goal tally is poor, but we are still in a position to secure our place in this league for next season.

Hi there
You and your friends are very welcome in the club bar before the game.............but you need to enter from Moss Lane (opposite the chippy) before you pay to get into the away end.

I don't have much money at present due, amongst other things, to the fact I'm getting married in May. However, I am going to join the monthly draw as my contribution to the cause.

Let's keep the club moving forward!

Great stuff Alty 1981............here is a good example of someone who is skint but will help as best they can.
Like others have said before, if every second home game somebody commited to either a pint in the bar, a pie, a programme, the golden goal, join the yankee or friends draw etc , then collectively it will make a big difference.

Spot on posts by many
A trip to Wembley in the FA Trophy final is a realistic dream, as is a 3rd round FA cup game away at somewhere winnable i.e Anfield ?
However, 'safe' for the last home game & CSC cup winners this season will be almost as good !

Nothing wrong with targets, but they must be realistic. Dave Pace entered the Conference last season with the aim of winning it. He said so in the NPL, however I am sure he really just wanted to stablisise at this level.
We must ensure that complacency does not set in and expections are not too high next season or we could be in for a shock.

Similarly fundraising efforts will still be much needed, despite some thinking the club is now awash with money after the car park sale etc
