Have the Vics got nowhere to train?
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:56:01 PM »

From the main site: VIGILANCE REQUIRED
Yesterday, during daylight hours, a number of teenagers trespassed on the pitch at Moss Lane to play a game of football. The damage they did to the surface, which had been re-seeded only days earlier, was significant and much work will now have to be re-done. All supporters, neighbours and passers-by are urged to be vigilant when passing the ground and, should they see anyone trespassing, they are requested to ring the police immediately.
Also, if anyone has any information regarding the identity of those trespassing, please ring the club on 928-1045 as soon as possible. Your help in this regard is very much appreciated.

I hate to see someones hard work being spoiled.

The club needed to put upended nails and glass on the top of the gates and boundry walls and vandal grease where possible

When they catch the little gits they should gas them.

Proper visible security wire/disks are legal but (sadly) barbed wire or glass shards are not. The sort of stuff that is near the new food stall/turnstiles is fine.

I'd go for a few landmines myself but it might be contraversial!

Subhuman scum!

Well yes, its annoying, but kids will get in if they can, it's down to the club to prevent this. CCTV would be useful, and before anyone kicks off it's not that dear, reduces insurance, and is a league 2 requirement anyway.

Are the gates not usually left wide open during the week?

yes, when there are people at the club, they are. But there are always people around, who would stop anyone going on the pitch who wasn't welcome.

Why haven't the posts been taken down and moved?  That would make it less appealing...

Yes, maybe taking the nets and indeed the posts down will solve the problem as they seem to have wanted a kick around rather than damage anything. I'm pretty certain they had no idea about the pitch being re seeded. That said it looks crap for playing on right now.

The gates really should be closed I remember years ago when I was younger I ran around on the pitch for a laugh, no one saw me and I was on there for a few minutes.

Kind of irelevent but does anyone else share my suspicion that D.A. ALTY is gunners11?

I did look twice at the username when I read the post!!!....I think altyego needs retrospectively punishing for his act of trespass and wanton vandalism all those years ago...............surely now the tories are in power it will soon become legal to shoot trespassers? although with their liberal partners you'd probably also have to give them fair warning and the freedom choice to run before you pull the trigger?
