over 850 Halifax fans at Stalybridge
« on: April 10, 2012, 01:56:01 PM »

Just spoke to a work colleague who watches Stockport.

He went to watch Stalybridge v FC Halifax last Friday & he said there was
"officially"  over 850 Halifax fans there & there was also more in other areas which would not have been counted as away fans.
So it was un-officially near 1000.

Lets hope they can bring that many to us on Saturday.

Yes and let's hope a couple of police officers are in attendance for such a large away following

Halifax fan here, don't think their will Be quite as many as stalybridge, staly is really quick and easy to get to by train. I
Would imagine 500-750 will make trip over.

The club is offering free travel again to alty, against staly we had over 200 people to go on coaches.

There was no police at staly.

You might  not have seen any but I know from speaking to an Alty steward who was at the game that there were police outside, and they popped in and out of the ground to keep an eye on things.

There is very unlikely to be any trouble on Saturday as there is no-one from Alty to fight with and we know that 99.9% of Halifax fans are there for the football.

However I think the lads that sometimes tag along and don't come for the football don't respond to polite request from stewards and need a police presence to show they can't do as they please.

Hopefully lessons will be learned from the Wrexham game...
