Jack came on at the end of last night's game and provided just about the only bright spot in an otherwise dire performance.
We've had a lot of tough games and long trips recently but that's no excuse for the 'crap' as our manager describes it, that we watched last night.
However.... Jack came on and immediately did what (you'll be more aware than me) he does. Kept the ball close to his feet at all times, twisted and turned, showed good speed over a few yards and cracked off a couple of decent shots.
The thing is he's joining a club where (apart from our other recent signing, Jordan Burrow - another kid, from Chesterfield) our strikers have done very little this season (we consider Ellison more of an attacking wide-midfielder - he's been excellent).
So there's not a great deal of undue pressure on the kid to perform immediately - he'll certainly be given the time to develop his game for the rest of this season and then we'll hope he can really start to show us what he's about after the summer.
Everyone liked what we saw last night, though, and he does seem to offer us something completely different to (and better than) what we've currently got.
