Imagine if some creative fan had suggested approaching them as a tie in to our away kit....

Like they'd have gone for it!
Seriously though, this is a case of who you know. This whole campaign has been outsourced to an agency (managing Vimto) who have previously worked on Hotel Football campaigns. Found that out yesterday.

Not really. I'm saying the context of this partnership in question means we never would have been considered. Salford's owners are good friends with, and have previously worked well with, the PR agency that now work with Vimto.

The bigger issue here is that CO92 may well be extremely famous, rich and a marketing dream which means sponsorship and investment will come to them, more importantly compared to us they are young and fresh.
They are attracting a young fanbase and capturing peoples imaginations.
We arent, we're languid. We are basically a modern example of how a company/football club shouldnt market itself.

Which brings us full circle to the point made yesterday, in that we can brand ourselves as modern and engaging through social media but its essentially pouring a tub of glitter on to a turd.
