I expect Alty to beat Coalville this weekend. Then on to Witton on Monday for another 3 pts.
Fortunately I will be at both games.

Alty 3-0 Coalville
ATT 745

The team start to believe and put on their best display this season so far...

There wasn't much over 650 home fans at the opening game. So I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if another 100 Alty fans turned up for a less attractive fixture, following a disappointing start to the season, and devoid of opening-day optimism.

Should be among the more comfortable victories of the season.

This match does give us the ideal chance to build on a victory with another one, as we completely failed to do in any league games last season (we did have three successive wins at one point, but two of them were home cup ties against teams from a lower division, before anyone says).  Therefore, I hope and trust we will beat the club who are currently joint bottom and were the worst supported team in the division.

Altrincham 3 (Hancock,  Poole,  Peers) Coalville Town 1 (Taylor) att. 624.

Points to games ratio was roughly the benchmark to stay up in Conf prem. Anyhow I am mid way to ML, long haul for me nowadays. I shall be in the GRE in approximately 1 hour and a half singing myself sore if anybody cares to join me.

The Leicester fans shouldn't have been let in the ground never mind let in for free - the club is a disgrace, putting bar takings over the safety of its supporters

We looked like Real Madrid for the first 20 minutes, then the confidence sapped back out of us as soon as they got a goal back and Coalville were on top for a long time. We ended up playing with virtually ten men due all subs used via injuries for the last 15 minutes so showed  great character to win the game. As for the other nonsense, the mind boggles, are we an ironic stop off venue or just social club with a footbal pitch these days?. If these people are going to be invited for whatever reason split the bar in half and the put them in the bit nearest the gates and open the away end. Manager asks for a cauldron, home fans pensive for 50 minutes whilst some proper lads have a run of the place.

Yes don't worry about those that have had two years worth of sh*t that astoundingly still turn ups match day experience, because we really don't matter. Pray tell what one sia bouncer and a few volunteers would have done if they'd got the fight some of them were itching for?

We were assured less then ten days ago this wouldn't happen again. People were in there with children and family's. The club has no dignity as proven against Stafford and again today. It's fine though, there's plenty of places to drink pre and post match. If the emphasis is not on making this a hard place for teams to come and play then fine, that's why less than 600 turn up. We were told we were pulling out all the stops to win the title, not win hospitality awards. We should be celebrating a victory rather than revisiting this bullsh*t again

With all due respect Ian, you couldn't see why some fans were unhappy they could no longer see parts of the pitch after a hall was built in a football ground so I wouldn't expect you to be able to see what the problem is today.

In fairness, I won't comment further other than to say, actually forget it, I just won't comment further

Very true. Interested to know if Pieman was at the game. I'm adamant he wouldn't be saying such things if he experienced that bar at half time. It was an accident waiting to happen.

Anyway, get in boys. Not a team in this league that will outscore us if we are full throttle. Thought JJ changed it from the bench. Well done lads.

Yes Andrew I was there, a few gobby kids but security and police present and nothing actually happened, having said that it does pose the question was it worth it for what money we took?
I think the club should report back on this before a decision is made to do it again.

They stated on the main website 16/08/17 that they would look into before doing it again hmm i wonder if the did.
So £1000 taken on the bar how much for extra security and police? Is it worth it bar profit probably down to
£500 or less after paying for them.

I believe the party had security with them and police were free.
I agree that the club needs to report back to fans on this whole thing, we deserve to know the full facts BEFORE any more hysterical social media over-reactions.

So to matches into the new season we have now had police at the ground doesn't look good does it.

So we're a cute/ironic day out now rather than an actual functioning senior male football club? I despair at this place, I don't care if they got a few pints, how many of the already despondent "bread and butter" will finally turn it in after this latest dumbing down of OUR football club remains to be seen. You are absolutely delusional.

Nothing happened? Smashed glass all over the men's bogs and a broken table. 20-30 clobbered up lads waiting for a vocal Alty retaliation? Wake up.

These lads didn't pay a bean to get in. Came through the CSH side entrance, supped largely from their own tins then f**ked off after we put out a public announcement that their coach was outside.

Are we some laughable stop on the way for have a go idiots who want to run riot? I noticed one 'bouncer' type but only at half time, proving once again that we do things reactively rather than proactively.

If we are serious about trouncing this league we need to have a very prompt reevaluation of how we organise our match days. It's simply not acceptable to have that sort of atmosphere in a home bar at any point during the game.

I talk about the match on this thread.

Superb opening 20 mins and could have been 4 clear. Let them back in with what was a decent strike but Taylor and Moult could have broke the attack. 2nd was another decent strike, but when the keeper gets beats twice from 25 yards I worry.

Loved going 3 at the back and going for the win. Johnson caused mayhem when he came on and Thompson made 2 great saves. Poole was man of the match for me.

I don't go in the CSH any more....it's becoming a potentially dangerous environment.

More important matters. We played well for about 22 minutes at the start, and about 15 minutes at the end. 37 out of 90+ isn't really good enough and we could have lost to a spirited but limited side.

Johnston simply HAS to start. He terrorised them when he came on.

I've been quite scathing about Jordan Hulme. Today he continued with the improvement he showed against Whitby. Never stopped grafting and should have got MOM. Actually 4 or 5 others deserved it more than Taylor.

We play a top 3 club away on Monday. We MUST come back with AT LEAST a point.

Agree with most of that. Coalville played their part in an enjoyable game (on the field of play, at least) and were perhaps a bit unlucky to lose by a two goal margin. We seemed to have a poor spell when John Disney was on the pitch, but I am sure that is just an unfortunate coincidence.

I have been critical about Jordan Hulme too, but he was excellent today, put in lots of hard work,  and continued to build on is recent improvement

I agree we played well for the first quarter of the game and should have been more than 2 up. Then we let Coalville into the game. We lost the ball in midfield, there player advanced unchallenged and finished with an excellent shot into the corner. There second was similar, JJ did not track there striker from a throw in, no one else challenged and the shot looped over Thompson. Very good strike. Thompson after that made 3 excellent saves I thought.

We finally woke up again and created quite a few chances before we finished with 2 more goals.

I made it we must have had more than 15 good chances to there 5. Our conversion rate needs to improve as does shutting the opposition down as they advance. Taylor not MOM for me. Hulme put in one hell of a shift and deserved that goal. JJ did very well when he came on.

Will be interesting to see how we do against Witton on Monday. Midfield will be key in this game. Looking forward to it.

How long did it take us to reach 7 points last season? Certainly more than a few weeks.
