John Edwards, joint Press & Media Officer at Altrincham FC, says that Alty manager "Neil Young has added one extra fixture to Altrincham's list of pre-season friendlies, against Witton Albion at their ground on Monday evening, kick-off 7.30pm.
'Friday night's game against Burnley was to be the last one, but we have now arranged an additional fixture against a Witton Albion XI  on Monday,' said the Alty manager. 'The idea is to give lads who have not played some game time, so it should prove a useful exercise from that point of view. We will still be training on Tuesday and Thursday, prior to the opening Vanarama National League North game against Darlington.' A full interview with Neil, reflecting on Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra, will appear on the website later".

Top man, Pete - on the ball, as ever! One other thing, folks, if you see a reference, in this week's Messenger, to the game being at Alsager with a 7.15 pm kick-off, please disregard it. It's wrong, though it's not the Messenger's fault. Witton were always the opponents, but it was originally scheduled for Alsager, with a slightly earlier starting time. By the time I was told the venue and kick-off had changed, it was too late for the Messenger, as the paper had already gone to print. Anyway, to reiterate, it's Witton Albion at their ground on Monday, 7.30 ko.
