I will expect and the club should demand of whatever manager and players we have that we come back up next season and then have a good season in this dreadful league the season after.

Im sick to the back teeth of being told we can't compete with clubs like Harrogate and whoever else it may be that get one man a dog going to watch, we'll get bigger attendances in the glue league than half the clubs in this division.

Easy to forget amongst this years shambles that just last season up until Christmas we were competing well enough with Tranmere, Cheltenham and Grimsby and beating and nearly beating two League one sides. I expected to be going for the play offs this season not next year when our embarrassing play off semi final capitulation will be at Rushall Olympic in front of 300 fans.

Just back from the game, very hard earned  point, Nicky Clee starting to look like his old self.
Typical Brackley side, physical, direct and with a couple of quick wingers.
Shaky at the back in the first half but good going forward. Much more solid in the second half without as much goal threat. (I think as couldn't see outside our attacking penalty area in the second half!)

Terrific support given the distance, horrible conditions and current situation.

Didn't go, doubt I will see another Alty game this season.

We are now actively planning days out down here by looking at the Ryman fixtures. In the past we'd have gone up to the likes of Telford/Darlo 4/5 of us from London without thinking. We've already arranged 2 Saturdays out now at Ryman games in Feb/March. As someone else has said very easy to fall out the habit, especially for exiled fans. My first game was in 1987 but I am totally disillusioned and the feeling grows stronger by the week. We are a national embarrassment. I am truly astonished our pathetic excuse for a football team are still somehow pulling in 900 at home.

This is how I feel, travelled 300 miles to watch us not have a shot at Stockport, 200 to not have a shot at Gainsborough the list goes on. I'm going to Brackley on Tuesday but only because it's 30 minutes away, after that I don't think I'll be at another game until August. Sick of it and finding it harder and harder to care.

Wouldn't support a breakaway club in the slightest at the moment but there are other examples of successes that mean they aren't always just fads.

Hereford for example, getting massive crowds.

My local team Rushden and Diamonds are averaging around 500 in the Evostick second flight and got over 1100 for an Fa cup game with Barwell last season and for the Northants Cup final against Kettrin'.

Every time I think things can only get better they get even worse....

I'll be at Lincoln next week but spending money and effort following this side is becoming much less attractive with each minute at the moment,

This current side is making me lose the desire to keep caring so much and it's making me something I never thought possible regarding Alty....Apathetic

I feel no attachment to hardly any of the players or the coaching staff. It's a very sad situation.

As Mike rightly points out, fan base size generates income....hence one would expect the Halifaxes and Darlingtons of this world to have a higher income stream and more financial clout than the Stalybridges and (unfortunately) Altrinchams.

I've observed before that our expectations of regular National League football are overly optimistic. And whilst the current mess in which we find ourselves is unacceptable on any number of levels, we will do well to avoid the drop this year.

Maybe we can get back to trying to punch above our weight by 2019.

All the whingeing and complaining won't help a jot....unless we know of somebody who wants to throw obscent amounts of moolah at us we'd better all grit our teeth and accept the situation. And trust in the board, because they're all we've got.

'Accept the situation'? We are 21st in the Conference North! This time last year we were about to beat Barnsley in the Fa Cup having beaten Cheltenham, Grimsby and Tranmere in league matches. This club shouldn't accept being in a relegation battle in this league it should be highlighted as what it is. A complete shambles that needs sorting by any means possible, not accepting.

Just returned home from the game.

Very very very poor. We didn't have a shot on target, the closest we came was a chip from the halfway line!

Started ok and looked competitive in a first half with no chances in it.

Second half was embarrassing, never even looked like getting back into it after going behind.

Very few positives at all.

We tend (Last year aside) to have always done quite well at Halifax. An opportunity to make a real statement with a positive result this early in the season.

Great to see things being done early and with a minimum of fuss. A big change from last summer.

Neil Young has clearly come in with a clear plan and vision, very encouraging start i think.

All we can do is go to Braintree and win, then look at other results. Tough enough task ourselves.

We need to get as many down there as possible in support, leave nothing behind on or off the pitch and then you never know....
