Crowd trouble at Nuneaton v Telford
« on: January 03, 2011, 06:13:46 PM »

Apparently some Telford fans were hospitalised due to violence at this afternoon's game. One quote from Telford's forum:

"Never EVER seen scenes like that before in all my life. We were on the pitch after being attacked a fair few were injured, I was hit on the head by a car tyre which floored me. The Nuneaton chairman was an absolute tool, he asked us what he should do about it..

Horrible scenes, horrible experience could have been worse had there been serious injuries."

How the hell do you get a car tyre into a football ground undetected?

I always thought we got off lightly when we beat them in the playoff game...that Cock and Bear end is a scary place.

Haven't they moved grounds since then?

It certainly was a loud and intimidating home end at Manor Park!

That to me shows two worlds of the football fan (some of which I have read about on here as well). Personally I think any violence at football should be avoided- but many of those who agree with this are VERY hypocritical. Baically that man says football violence- it's not big and its not clever, fair enough, but then goes on about all the times he has been involved in football violence, and this is my problem.

I think the bit at the end is mainly about the guy saying "we saved you at such and such a place" and he's just using examples when they have had a lot more sh*t to deal with than a bunch of knobs throwing stones at people. Violence in football has always happened, thankfully its dying out and has been doing for a while.

and informs me that the player rumoured to have been taken to hospital is Shane Kilock.
