I popped to the Vics V Hampton FA Trophy game tonight.

Very windy conditions, made worse by the smell coming from fields nearby.  The Vics kicked off with the wind and dominated.  Hampton were very poor I felt, their number four was a giant bloke who had no obvious talent.  he was clumsy and didn't dominate in the air like he should have done.

Vics were quicker to adjust to the conditions and fully deserved a two nil half time lead.  The first tem minutes of the second half were Hamptons chance to get back into the game, but Vics now playing into the wind, went three up.  Hampton had a fifteen minute period where they got one back and looked as of they may get back into it.

Quite a few half heard terrace conversations having a pop at JR and the various goings-on.

The one player that caught my eye was the Vics keeper Ben Hinchcliffe.  Very difficult conditions but did almost everything well, plenty of vocals coming from him.  Crosses / corners were well plucked out of the air.

Vics deserved the win.  Where they play the next round is another matter...
