With the current small squad, and absolutely nothing on the bench, we have no chance of reaching the play offs.
-
Do we trust Sinnout with the cash to strengthen or do we get someone in that knows what theyre doing?
-
Look forward to seeing what Gary Lowe made of today on Twitter...
-
Need to strengthen but play offs I'm mot rulling out

He has got us through the cup rounds to earn us the cash, i would argue that he should be able to spend some of it. The glaring weaknesses are there for all to see. We have no cover at centre half (unless you count a learning right back that is prone to lapses) no cover at left back/left midfield if one of either gets injured/suspended. We have little cover at CM if we have one injury or suspension and we have nobody to bring off the bench to as cover for our strikers.
Brooke and Lacey are not good enough. Mitchley I have not seen a lot of but there seems to be something there from what people have said, it just needs bringing out.
I understand Lee saying that he would rather have a small squad of high quality players than a large squad of mediocre ones. It just seems that we have a small team of high quality players and a smaller squad of sh*t ones.

Not starting Watmore
Taking off Reeves and Clee
Are we trying to win football matches or just limit the damage?

When three goals down and down to 10 men, probably best to cut your losses. Playoff push is the priority now.
This thread is very silly. We're 6 points outside the playoffs with the majority of the season to come and £75,000 sitting in the bank.
-
It's seven points outside the play-offs now as a result of Bradford PA's 6-1 victory at Workington.

In that case I take it all back. SEASON OVER. SINNOUT.

My post was just an update regarding the league table after today's results rather than an attempt to corroborate the title of this thread!

Season over, let's get rid

Any other fruit anagram?

Today was awful but had a good laugh with the chaps

No
I don't trust him to even make substitutions, or pick his best team
Sinnout

Not fruit but it is an anagram of "Le Nom" which translates as "The Name". Coincidence? I don't think so...

Sinnout will know as much as we do what to do to strengthen the team.
Sinnout will know as much as we do what to regarding ineffectual players.
We probably havent even had the cash in the bank to spend yet.
Up and down supporters some of you. Granted some have been calling for his head the day he signed his contract, and some have stuck by him and seen him develop a team to take on a play off contenter two leagues above.
What would I do, where does my hat sit at the moment, i really dont know, part of me is saying stand by him, part of me is saying get someone new in, but the question is who.
For the time being I will still vote for him to stay, but we need to see some good transfers in the next 8 weeks.
-
Watmore should have started today but he opted to keep the same team from last week which isn't that unheard of.
No manager in the world could be held accountable for what went on that four minutes.
You simply can't do that against a quality side like Halfax or they will bury you which is just what they did.
Players who have taken the plaudits in other cup games have to hold their hands up today and take a lot of the blame. Silly individual errors.
Taking off Reeves and Clee was poor as well but the game was lost.
Piss easy to just blame the manager and so this "sinnout" sh*t but today was a collective bad day at the office.
-
Playing Leather at RB and not Densmore was a massive rick. As good as Leather has performed hes not as good as Densmore. This and no Rogers was massive.
As for the worst 4mins ever no manager can be blamed.
Lawrie and Moult were shocking.

Season over, let's get rid
Er... It's November.
-
The season cannot be said to be over when we still have a chance of reaching the play offs.
We have seen improvements, even more goals....a slightly longer cup run than normal, better quality in the starting eleven....
So I say we keep improving, get behind Lee until the season actually is over.
Then the board may have a difficult decision to make, but they are all decent chaps, trustworthy and have alty's best interests in their hearts so I trust them to make the right decision at that time.
Lee's task is to somehow lose these mad 5 minutes between now and the end of the season....coz if we miss out on the play offs due to conceding two silly goals in the last 5 minutes to only draw with vauxhall motors at home or something after having half a season to iron it out then what confidence should we have that he will iron out whilst he is swanning around the med during close season when he is supposed to be working? ;D ;D ;D
-
Keep him, I say, and back him with some squad strengthening cash.
The team he has assembled have some good quality players and play an attractive style of football, eg for most of the first match at Burton they outplayed the opposition.
The FA Cup run was exciting, and full of away matches, but it's over now, and Lee can concentrate on the league. With one match a week from now to the end of the season, it will make planning, and training a little more focused, with no distractions.
We are where we are in terms of league position, but it could be worse, we could be in Vics position, or Keterings.
-
So, season isn't over, in summary. 8)
-
The way we play the game is not question but this team lacks toughness and that won't change we don't win when things are going wrong not sure we have won from being behind against eleven men in the Sinnott era
-
We may play attractive football
But we will never win enough matchs to be successful. LS simply is not good enough and this has been proved numerous times now
All 150 people booing his substitutions at Halifax says it all really
You could keep him to the end of the season but you would be just wasting time, most certainly I wouldn't let him waste the cup money
Also Tolson should be dismissed immediately for his hand gesture to the Alty fans yesterday
-
What hand gesture was this?
-
Tolson bloody hell what has he ever done why did we employ him???
-
What hand gesture was this?
the "f**k off" kind of hand gesture
-
In that case, he should f*** off. >:( >:(
-
I'd like a bit more confirmation of who did what on the bench yesterday before anyone starts a lynch mob.
Yesterday people were almost making stuff up in that stand and other people were being outraged by it.
My favourite was that sinnot had said he was saving Duncan for the playoffs.
I think people can find enough stuff to beat him with without myths
-
We were that far away from our bench we didnt know who was who let alone make out hand gestures.
-

I wasnt there yesterday, but if someone said that i would have just laughted in their faces, plonker whoever said it.
-

everyone i have spoken with saw it
-
We have 20 points from 14 games....if we continue at this rate we will end up with 60 pts.
Last season we had 61 points and needed 72 to get into the playoffs.
The only significant difference I can see from last season is a lack of drawn games this time.
We have yet to play 4 teams who are presently above us and 3 who are below us.
Doesn't look like playoff form to me. >:( >:(
-
It wasn't Tolson, he was stood up. It looked very much to me like it was LS. Don't know that for sure. I don't tend to have a go at him, but yesterday he got it very wrong. And if he did make the hand gesture he's out of order completely.
-

Persisting with Ryan Brooke is completely out of order.
-
If a hand gesture was used does anyone really think that either Lee Sinnot or Neil Tolson should be sacked for it? A previous manager made a habit of it and no action was ever taken against him. It merely shows that they care. I think we all need to be careful what we wish for, there is no guarantee that a new manager could guarantee a playoff place either.
-
For one, I very much doubt Neil Tolson made a hand gesture. He's a nice guy, that's not Tolse. Second, how the hell would you know what he's done since joining? Are you present in training sessions, do you see his coaching style? Maybe he's contributed to our devastating attacking play? You don't know that.
It's always "everyone I spoke to" saw the incident. How about someone come on here and say what they saw with their own two eyes, not what they heard from others. Does anyone know what actually happened? Probably not, I'm guessing.
Everyone calm down. It was a crap result yesterday but let's see what can be achieved with our cup money.
I think the people in Halifax yesterday know more about it than you over in Massachusetts Clicky
-
Maybe they do but you know how things can get with stupid rumours. When someone comes on this forum and says "Yesterday I saw such and such do so and so and I'm outraged" as opposed to "I heard that this happened" it might have a bit more credibility. I've got to say I am disgusted by the fans of this club at times and the way we react to things.
-
I was on the bench yesterday and I did not witness any "actions" aimed at our fans, but there were a few aimed at the ref on a couple of occasion's. There were 1 or 2 decision's that did not go our way, as is the norm in any game. I can 100% guarantee that Altrincham's fan's are appreciated by all player's and staff!!

Clicky your misunderstanding me - I saw it
As did a number of others I spoke to after the game
-
To be honest I'm not botherd by it and I wasn't when heathcote did it people are human in spur of the moment what I'm not happy about is results for the record I was a long way away and slightly pissed so I'm not complaining didn't see out

Thank you Ian. And THAT should be the end of this thread.
Bigger clubs than us have days like Saturday, and survive.
Get behind the lads - hard month ahead, support needed !
-
So a bad result on Saturday but get behind the lads now and lets have a big push for the play offs starting on Saturday at Boston!!
Seems that we're both suffering from inconsistency but nothing that can't be sorted with 2 or 3 new players on both sides
COME ON ALTY!!!
-
I agree 100%/ Im going to Boston on saturday and will wear my alty shirt with pride, were only 6 poins off play offs
hardly sdeason over.

Good man Ron ! I'll get you a pint over the road if we're early enough. I'm on the coach this week.

With respect, when discussing the state of the team etc, we can't keep referring to the fact there are basket cases in non league football. It's almost as if running a football club but not getting into the state that Vics and Kettering have is some kind of achievement. It's totally irrelevant to the question of whether the manager is up to the job, or at least up to teh demands we put on the job.
On which subject I don't think I'll bother to comment.
-
Well said as usual ballers that post about vics and kettering is amazingly pointless
