Title: More live fixtures announced
Post by: finnquark on July 18, 2014, 02:09:26 PM
BT have announced September and October fixtures for live broadcast. Surprisingly, we are not among the teams covered:

Wednesday 10 September: Dover Athletic v Barnet - 7.45pm

Monday 22 September: Chester v Wrexham - 8pm

Wednesday 9 October: Kidderminster Harriers v Welling United - 7.45pm

Saturday 11 October: Alfreton v Torquay United - 5.30pm

Whilst Alty-Macc is a tasty affair, Chester-Wrexham is more well known nationwide, maybe more so because of what happens away from the grounds. As they want as high viewing figures as possible, I don't blame BT here.

It's a big derby game that will probably attract a full house, with lots of Wrexham fans unable to get a ticket for the game. From that point of view, it's an absolute no-brainer.

Good, for a thousand quid or whatever itbis we don't want to be playing Thursday, we'd lose money on it

We might get a game on the box when we are in a relegation dogfight with Dover.

It looks like (Apart from the cross-border shindig in Chester) BT are giving as many teams their one moment of glory before concentrating on the title contenders later in the season. I think on that basis, we can expect to be on against someone innocuous in November or February.

Unless of course we become title contenders in which case we'll be on throughout March and April.  :D

Also, will AltyTV be able to keep providing highlights of home matches, or will there be restrictions in place because of the terms of the tv deal?

Plenty of clubs do highlights so I think Alty Tv should be okay.
