I hope this was his decision. I was excited about seeing a fit Miller again.

Sounds like it was management decision.

Guess we'll be signing Rokka

Mistake in my book.
Sean was back to his best and we know would be a consistent player.
Rokka looked good v macc but do we know what his attitude and consistency levels are.
Id hoped we sign both..out of the two id have gone for sean..

Only have to read the replies to Sean’s tweet so see the disappointment is shared by us all. Had more to give the club.

We knew it was Miller v Rokka and obviously Parky has seen more in Rokka than he has in Miller, so guess we just have to trust in that.

PP let Jerome Wright go and kept JJ this time a year ago. Big calls both.

I've no problem with this one.

Good luck to Miller, who along with Taylor were the only 2 highlights in the darkest season ever

I was surprised to see this, but based on last season, Phil Parkinson is a very good judge of a player's potential, even when they are slow starters like Messrs Hulme and Harrop were, for understandable reasons.

I assume Rokka will now sign, but, given Dwyer's departure, is there another place, too?

The goalkeeping lack of cover still worries me, but, as has been said, all the very best to Sean Miller for hisefforts in our worst recent season.

Shame that he has gone because if he gets back to to his best he is an asset. I’ve not seen enough of Rokka yet to make a judgement on him. The main issue for me still remains the goalkeeping position. I don’t think TT is good enough to start as our number 1.

He did look good vs macc and for me crewe, however, as a footy fan i watch the game for the few moments of magic and the useful runs, i don't really pay attention to the runs without the ball etc which makes up the majority of the game.  I can only conclude either:-
a. He doesnt do off the ball what pp wants him to do
b. He wouldnt be happy being on the bench and that is likely once poole is fit

Still gutted by this but must trust PP.

According to the main site we're not signing Rokka either.

Must have someone in mimd

Interesting... although I have no doubt that if PP wasn't convinced about either of them, he wouldn't sign for the sake of a signing and keep the budget free for 10+ games in.

Or, like you say, he's got someone in mind. It's normally the time that other trialists trickle down (or there's some interesting releases), we got Jordan at a similar time last year.

I do trust PP but he baffles me sometimes....mswaille...dwyber was an odd one not really the quality step up I thought we needed.......that keeper who someone should have told a while ago was too short to be a keeper at this level......sean would have been a real asset and a proven player who loved alty and would probably would have gone out on loan happily to keep his fitness...rokka was quality on that left side and I was getting excited about seeing him and conor rip people apart down that side...

If we can't afford one of them it's a crying shame.....I look forward to us signing a player of real quality for that left wing...maybe kevin Ellison has phoned asking for a gig??

From the main site...is it just me or does it sound like rokka has upset someone?...

The club have announced that Sean Miller has been released and will not be offered a contract to join the squad for the 2018/19. Sean enjoyed an excellent season in the 2016/17 campaign where he was one of our standout performers despite the club suffering relegation. His Alty career however stalled in the 2017/18 season after a series of injuries restricted his playing time.

We thank him for some outstanding goals, performances, and his hard work over the last couple of years.

Elliot Rokka’s trial has also come to an end and we wish him all the very best for the future.

I think it’s just you, I don’t see anything in the announcement to suggest anything else. Sean gets more of a write up I think because he has spent a lot longer at the Club, and merits a decent write up. Elliot was (only) a triallist.
