YORK match - FA to invoke 30 day rule for Matty Crowell?
« on: August 25, 2010, 09:40:32 PM »

I understand that the FA will issue a temp international clearance after 30 days, which means he should be available for York on saturday. Can anyone confirm that?

Also, Densmore/Danylyk both told me (outside the chippy in Southport) they should be OK for saturday as well, but not Robbie L. Lets hope Denham & Reeves are OK.

If so, make sure a copy is sent to Colin Peake just in case he fancies a repeat of a few years ago.

Lets hope Michael Twiss is able to play and he gets himself match fit. With Matty Crowell hopefully now able to play I am quite confident of Alty picking up some points and getting out of the bottom four...

We certainly missed the Sean, Ant and Robbie in the midfield the other night.

I believe that the squad are still finding there feet and will gel together sooner rather than later..

Sadly I wont be at the York game but will be there on Bank Hol Monday to watch them play the pitmen from Mansfield.

Cmon Alty.........

Heard at the game on Tuesday that Twiss has dropped some weight since he got injured, hopeful he can get his match fitness back and start scoring asap.

Here's what confuses me - when the Aussie FA were so clearly dragging their heals, why didn't the English FA invoke the 'thirty day rule' just before the season kicked-off?

I say play him, only games will get him fit.

They couldn't. They invoke the rule 30 days after the request for international clearance has been made. Presumably we requested it 30 days ago now.

I'm not 100% but I am sure the 30 day rule is that if he hasn't got clearance 30 days after you have put in the request (and I presume his club at the other end have no issues) they allow it.

We put it in after the Trafford game...

Ah, fair enough. My mistake.

I still find the whole thing absolutely ludicrous. Don't they just have to sign a few papers and make a couple of faxes? What on earth are they doing Down Under?

They tick a few boxes on a form to say he has no outstanding fines or suspensions in australia and then fax it to soho square for them to file it and the give us permission to play him,Believe it or not it really is as simple as that....
