After all the goings on
I'm a little more confident of perhaps getting a result tonight

having had Alty on my lucky 15 last sat only to see the game postponed I am not touching the 6/1.

As it happened my other three Crawley, Kidderminster, and Stoke all won at the weekend..

Midweek Blue Square Bet Premier preview from Blue Square

AFC Wimbledon will aim to extend their lead at the summit when they visit York City in the Blue Square Bet Premier on Tuesday night. The Wombles, who are two points ahead of closest rivals Crawley Town, have played four more games than the Red Devils and can ill afford any slip-ups. Terry Brown's men enter the tie with confidence after dispatching Gateshead 2-0 last Friday, while York - in 10th-place - are smarting from a shock 4-0 reverse at struggling Southport when they were reduced to ten-men early in the game for the second time already this year. AFC Wimbledon are in the midst of a grueling schedule which has seen them play away four times in recent weeks requiring overnight stays. York are the well backed slight favourites at 11/8. An away win has drifted to 7/4 and a draw is on offer at 9/4.

With Crawley not playing until Thursday, third-placed Luton have a chance to move into second. The Hatters have collected 54 points - two less than Steve Evans' charges - and are set to host mid-table Darlington who were held by Mansfield in their last league outing. Luton edged Grimsby 1-0 in their last match. Robbie Willmott’s arrival from Cambridge United can be capped with the opening goal on his debut at 9/1. Richard Money’s team are the strong 1/2 favourites to win on the night.

Wrexham, in fourth, are favourites to claim the spoils at home to relegation-threatened Altrincham. Dean Saunders' resurgent outfit ousted Mansfield in a five-goal thriller on Saturday. With in-form Jay Harris firing a late winner. Although the Dragons enjoy a mammoth 24-point advantage over Altrincham, the Robins can draw inspiration from their recent 4-2 defeat of fellow strugglers Hayes and Yeading. Wrexham are the 2/5 favourites for the game but the best value may be found in the draw at 16/5.

Fleetwood Town, with 48 points, currently occupy the final play-off place and will expect nothing less than victory when they visit bottom club Histon at Bridge Road. The Cod Army beat Forest Green Rovers 2-0 last Saturday while the Stutes earned a creditable point at high-flying Newport County. David Livermore’s team are far from being beaten out of sight in their home games and a 1-0 away success at 11/2 appeals more than a straight win bet at 4/6.

Histon are still five points adrift of nearest strugglers Eastbourne Borough who entertain Gateshead. The Tynesiders, in 17th place, are an uneasy five points above the drop zone following their recent loss to AFC Wimbledon. They should maintain their Premier status if they can win games against the teams around them. Tonight is an ideal opportunity for Ian Bogie’s men to do just that at a price of 13/8.

Grimsby, in eighth, are six points of the play-off pack ahead of their trip to Southport. The Mariners edged Eastbourne 3-2 over the weekend and could find it tough against another side desperate for a win. The Sandgrounders are just three points above the relegation zone but will take heart from their recent demolition job of ten-man York. Back-to-back victories have been infrequent for Liam Watson’s side this season and only the bravest punters will back them at 21/10.

In the middle of the standings, Rushden & Diamonds will battle it out with visiting Cambridge United at Nene Park. The 12th-placed Diamonds are four points richer than the U's in 16th who have played an extra game. Justin Edinburgh's side were held by Tamworth in their previous outing, while Cambridge were destroyed by Bath City in a 4-0 rout. With U’s boss Martin Ling requiring a response from his players, the draw price of 5/2 makes most appeal.

Best Blue Square Treble

Wrexham v Altrincham – DRAW

GATESHEAD - to win at Eastbourne Borough

GRIMSBY – to win at Southport

A £10 bet at the current Blue Square prices returns £230.

Not sure, some games have draw written all over them. There was a period where a stalemate in the Edinburgh derby was more or less guaranteed. There's also the benefit that always get better than 2/1.
