This was taken from another forum, posted by a (normally very reliable) York fan. Don't know about the reliability of it though.

League kicks off on 11th August.  As I previous said, I rang and asked the League when the fixture lists would be out and they said they are moving offices to Birmingham (from Kent) on 30th June.  The fixtures are "being looked at" and will be available "soon".

The latest item on the Conference forum has a link to Blue Square who are offering odds for games on the 11th August......according to that we have Stafford at home!!! Looks like I'm going to miss 3 home games as off on holiday on the 11th!!!!!

They have got to be more professional if they want to attract people to non league football. This is a mess.

Not so sure about that. the BSP/conference has been a right fiasco since more pro clubs joined it.  Who's up?, who's down?...why?...I say less professionalism all round please, but more competence.

If the page you're looking at is this one:

http://www.bluesq.com/bet?action=go_events&type_id=3912

then this is actually a series of bets on which of various pairs of teams will finish higher (presumably valid until kick-off in the first games, which is why it looks like opening fixtures).

All the pairings are teams of roughly equal standing (eg the four promoted teams are all paired together), to make the bets more interesting. These aren't the opening fixtures. For one thing, there's only eleven of them. No Crawley for some reason...

Have a goodwin for having some good analytical skills.

I see, the thing that confused me was the fact that each match had 11th of August 2007 3:00pm, explains why I thought the odds for each match were strange.

Are you suggesting there is some sort of conspiracy that Crawley ain't on the list????

Has anyone realised that if Crawley arent on the list there will be 1 other club missing as the teams are paired?

No idea why they aren't there. But I'd love to think Blue Square knows something we don't.

£3 million pound of debt and a long drawn out takeover?

you know it's a massive shame that those fixtures aren't the official openers because Salisbury v Farsley would have been an absolute cracker to kick off the season!
