Just occurred to me that last week we had over 5000 in our ground for the 2 games. I’m sure this fact hasn’t been missed by our Treasurer!

Would that be a record for us, I know it is in recent times ..but what about in our history?

Either way…that’s a great week for us.

Allegedly crowds of 5,000 were not unusual when we were dominating the Cheshire league (we also apparently took 5,000 to Wolverhampton around this time). Perhaps others can say more about this?

1979-80 though, we must have had more home fans because there wouldn't have been many away supporters compared to what we can get now.

I was one of the many fans who watched the Wolves beat Alty 5-0 . Even well beaten it was a great day out …
Crowds were very good at home games during this period in time..
