Phil Parkinson has made two more signings. See club website.
-
Jerome Wright is a lovely footballer. Good signing.
-
Very happy with the signing of Jerome Wright and Peers looks a good prospect. We seem to have a healthy squad now.
-
I think PP is trying to sign as many players as Neil Young! Welcome anyway Jerome and Tom.
-
If you had five words to describe the difference between the glut of players coming in this summer, and last, what would they be?
1. Considered
2. Tactical
3. Strategic
4. Rational
5. Compact

Think we now have a squad of 21 if you include Andrew Jones as back up keeper but the difference this season appears to be we have strength in depth with cover for every position.

Oddly enough, Tom Peers was given his debut at Chester, his first club, by Neil Young. Sean Miller was too, though, and he was a rare cause for optimism last season.
Welcome to the club to both.

and he has good knowledge of their ability as well and is not looking like he is planning on using league matches to start unknown players for a giggle

I'd say a keeper is certainly needed but no reason to panic he has plenty of time
-
Welcome to you both.
So that's 21 signed up and no difinative news on Densmore, McDonald and McWilliams?

Densmore re-signed earlier this week according to John Edwards. John also mentioned McWilliams as a potential triallist.
I'm guessing McDonald will be in that latter category.

I have the feeling that things are looking good on the pitch (finally) I am looking forward to seeing them all when the friendlies start on the 8 July at downtown Whitchurch.... ( The Northern powerhouse of Sunny Shropshire) ..
-
Obviously we're building a half decent squad. You wouldn't expect players like Jerome Wright and James Poole to struggle in the Evostik. I have only two concerns about the squad. Firstly, we have no cover for Tim Deasy and secondly, you just wonder at the Evostik goalscoring credentials of some of our forwards. Hopefully everything will iron itself out.
-
With a keeper, a strong motivator, clear instructions and some tactical nouse i'd expect this squad to be challenging in conf North, or at least comfortable.
We're still starting from rock bottom though with a lot of new faces so i'm being cautious in my optimism, I hope we win a load of pre-season games just to get the monkey off our back and clean the slate a bit. Get the players gelling. If we dont get off to a good start I dread to think!
-
wonder if our new physio team reckon they can get and keep deasy fit???
-
Well getting a new physio is the most important thing we've done so far and that's not me criticising the signings
