Maybe people could use the thread to put a reason behind staying, like they can on the other one for reasons to be going?

I am interested as to why people see him to still be suitable for the job, for football management reasons , which is what Football Managers are judged on ?

We'll never know if we don't try! At this rate we'll be down by Christmas.

Heathcote to go - not many people could do much WORSE in MY opinion (and that's from a man who's been one of his most consistent supporters !)

Maybe someone that be given a chance ? Maybe the question of "Who could do worse" would be apt ?
There are managers who would love the chance to come to Alty, that I am sure of.

For me this is NOT saying that the manager is doing a good job though??, again for footballing reasons is how we should look at it. 1pt thus far, someone gets a win they have done better instantly, as we have played top and bottom clubs and have failed against both ?

Not in our present position. It would have to be someone who relished a really tough challenge - the odds on succeeding at present would be pretty hefty, and no manager worth his salt wants to be associated with failure.

I'm in the 'IN' camp, on the proviso that:

1) We go to 4 at the back
2) He stops being so f'ing precious about loan signings. We can have 4 long-term loans and 5 in any matchday squad, we are in the most-dense league football clubs per square mile outside of London, there will be squad and youth players out there who would be available.

So what have we got to lose ?? At the moment its looking like relegation, if we get a new man in then it could be relegation .... Again do people honestly believe that Graham Heathcote is the only person who wants to be manager of Altrincham FC ?... I am SOOOOOO fed up of 'no one else would want the job', LETS FIND OUT !!!

An incoming manager could see this as a no-lose situation, we are so poor at present that any improvement would be looked at positively.I have been one of Grahams supporters, but I am starting to change my mind after this, I really thought we could get something today and two wins out of 24 speaks for itself.

For crying out loud, can we stop this. I do not claim to be GH's biggest fan by any means, but what he has done for this club is almost beyond remarkable, he is the one man who truly knows how much the attitude and performance of the team is struggling. Please do not let us forget that he does the work all week and then for 90 minutes there are 11 other men who have to take their portion of the blame. We are a very fortunate club as the staff in the backroom have transformed the club from a financial mess to a club which no longer has any of these worries, yes it is good to aim high for our club but lets be realistic. Question for myself, do i think alty can stay up thi season? Yes. But only if Heathcote is incharge come May

1pt so far and you are so sure Altrincham will stay up.... Interesting...

THE PAST DOES NOT EQUAL THE FUTURE... Live for the now.

Can we not forget that this is not a voluntary role that he is in and that the new manager would have to do the same for the money that he is paid.

We insist on playing him due to us not spending money we don't have like a lot of other clubs, would i rather see alty mid table in debt witha James Constable esc player then going bust in a couple of years, or financially sound with players like Twiss and Reeves, easy choice really.
