Great to read Bill's Programme notes for today's game... always a good read... here's part of his submission that gives an update on future plans & what's happening in coming wks...
The time is fast approaching when we will be formally announcing our plans for the pitch renovation in the close season, and how you can help. We are days away from hearing the result of our grant application from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund. Neil Faulkner, Paul Carter, groundsman Neil Brown and I met with the preferred supplier for the work, with Lawrence joining by conference call before the game last Saturday. Watch this space!
Coming this week, too, should be an update on the Fan Zone with those of you who sponsored tiles being contacted to finalise your wording as we get ready to clear the site for the Phase One build. We are also finalising the sponsors lounge, with the very last bits of work being completed soon.
All this activity! Its almost as if we are preparing to have fans once more in The J.Davidson Stadium. And indeed this is the case. We have submitted our plans, processes and protocols to Trafford Borough Council with an intent to readmit fans for the last two home games of the season, the rearranged tie against Yeovil Town on 22nd May and the last game of the season against Torquay United the following Saturday. An immense amount of work has gone on to get us to this point, led by Nigel Bunce, Paul Carter and Grahame Rowley and a lot more work is needed before we can confirm arrangements. However be assured it will be home fans only, and prioritised with season ticket holders at the top of the list. We hope to be able to announce more details in the coming weeks – it will be great to have you back.
Meanwhile, on the playing side, Rob Esteva and Phil Parkinson are working very hard to establish, finalise and implement our approach for next season. The second season in this league is quite often the most difficult, and we recognise the work we need to do in readiness.
