One previous appearance for us against Runcorn Linnets in the Cheshire Senior Cup last season:

Not sure what to think of this one - clearly we're doing United a favour but he's been part of a United U21 team that's shipped quite a lot of goals - and that's in boy's football.
Part of the team that was beaten 8-1 by Bolton in the EFL Trophy too.
Clearly well thought of - I know he won their apprentice of the year award last season didn't he.
Good luck to him and I'm sure he'll want to make an impression when he gets a chance.

Reading Parky's comments, I hadn't realised James Jones was out for the rest of the season. Had that previously been announced and I missed it?
PS. Welcome back to Alty, Sonny. Hope you can play a part in getting us to where we all want to be! Good luck.

Didn't last long without loanees in the squad did we? 😂😂

I'm not sure why we need him. Cooper, Baines, Roscoe, Burroughs......

Cooper was the only fit player we had who can play as the right-sided centre back, so as PP says signing Aljofree provides competition and cover in that position.

If we have to assure United that he'll get regular games it seems a bit unfair on Cooper I would have thought.

Agree with the above . Talking of Sunny though Phil described him as a fantastic person and player , he is from a Blackley family and my lad played with Hasney , Sonny's dad for St Clares juniors . Hasney went on to a very decent league career after his release from United and these days is Youth coach at OT . Very nice family.

Sonny !

There is not a chance of him playing instead of a fit Cooper imho.

I'm not sure even Parkinson is mental enough to jeopardise PO to keep a cushty relationship with united... Surely...
I understand taking him, if he comes with a Maxi or a more proven player.
As for finding out our club captain is out for the season as a one-liner in a loan article. That's pretty poor.

100% on the James Jones point. Really poor form to slide it in like that.
We had the lad last year, so at least Parky knows him already, and I guess it is a cover thing now we ultimately know this news. We didn't play him much last year and Utd were happy enough. Hopefully it is still the case.

So I hadn't missed any announcement then.
As others have said, seems a bit odd to just slip it in like that.

I’d seen James Jones shoulder injury meant he was out for the season. I think was in a Flynny audio interview somewhere and I think in the interview the physios did with AltyTV a while back. There wasn’t an announcement as such but certainly not the first time it’s been mentioned publicly
-
Thanks Bath. I had missed it then. 🤔

One school of thought here - now that Justin Donawa is fit (and Lewis Banks has improved considerably going forward) is that we might see the return of the back three for certain fixtures - I've flip flopped on the subject myself but obviously I'm anxious not to fix what isn't broken here.
Parky will certainly at least want the option available to him, as any good manager should.
