Post by: robininstockport on January 19, 2023, 09:34:31 AM
                 Byrne

Mullarkey.  J. Jones.   Baines.  E. Jones

                Lundstram.    Marriott

    Gyasi.    Conn-Clarke.  Kaja

                            Jennings

Yeovil 1-2 Alty. (Conn-Clarke, Kaja)

Good luck and safe journey to all that go.

Think he will start with same 11 as Tuesday barring any injuries.

forecasting heavy frost on Friday night, so hope they have frost covers.

safe travels for all going to the game

We get three points. Not confident we will keep a clean sheet so with CCC in incredible form and Kaja coming through I will go brave and say 3 1 Alty win.

They have very good frost covers - I remember seeing them when we played there a couple of seasons ago. It was pretty snowy in the South West that day but their pitch played very well, so hope that will be true on Saturday too.

It's a weird feeling going to somewhere like Yeovil and being confident of a win.

Professional performance needed!

I'm not so confident. I am very hopeful though 😉

Admirable how confident everyone is but Yeovil are very decent at home so it won't be easy to pick up a win there. Bearing in mind we only have 2 away wins this season I'd be very happy with a draw and a continuation of the good run we find ourselves on.

They don't win or lose many... so I guess it'll be a draw.

I hate that mans face. Hearing him complain about a game that could have been called off a lot earlier at the start reminded me of this classic from the early in his managerial career - http://www.altrinchamfc.co.uk/061219th.htm

Tamworth were a proper thorn in our side back then.

Pitch inspection at 1pm. Currently 2c but was -5c overnight... Must be a doubt, even with the covers they put on

I think most people (not just those on the minibus) are sincerely hoping the game will be on. Our chances of getting something out of this fixture will be substantially diminished once CCC has moved on to pastures new.

Also, with the other postponements today, we could climb into the top third of the league with a sneaky win!

Feel sorry for the travelling fans. Sadly another midweek trip to be arranged

Not with hindsight but was always very unlikely to be on. Hopefully the travelling fans can somehow make the best of it

Got to the ground at 1400,it was 3 degrees with a lot of snow and ice in the overflow carpark everywhere else looked fine.So much for Coopers interview, where he slacked off the game being postponed last week.

Incredibly, one of the few matches in the lower leagues that did go ahead was Buxton v Hereford. I bet there weren't any travelling fans.

No great surprise there:

A bit late  now. Did they really not know until one o'clock? It's not like there was a deluge or anything like with our game.

Still glad I went though! And we'd have been up to sixth with a win.

Apparently all the players were happy to turn out on that pitch, but the referee wasn't having any of it. Yeovil's chairman is absolutely seething, and intends to submit a formal complaint to PGMOL who control the appointment of officials.

I could only see so much looking through the gate, but that's probably the best "unplayable" pitch I've seen - even better than at Torquay that time!

The steward on the gate told me that they had tried to get someone to check the pitch was playable both fiday and saturday morning, but no one would come out to check it.

Yeovil will have lost £5-10k with game not being on, so of course they want to play. Referee's have final say, and they won't risk it these days if there is any doubt to safety.

Shame for all traveling fans. But the weather decides ultimately.
