George Heslop will know more details about him but I believe he played for the Robins circa 1963?

He was also an ex-Mansfield Town manager, so there will probably be a minute's silence for him at our game with them next Saturday.

He certainly did play for us. I think he was a left back and am not too sure if he wasnt our Captain at one time.I also think it was around 1963/64 but would have to climnb in my roof to access my programmes to check. Again my memory is vague and I was very young at the time, but I think he struggled with injuries while with us.

Ian Greaves also had further Alty connections in that he was Gerry Quinn's father-in-law.
