Had a feeling it had gone when Warren missed the pen, oh well, lets concentrate on staying up, tough way to go out though.... :(
Yep. I guess the penalty was a big turning point. If they'd been one down with 10 men and having to go for it rather than hang on for pens (assuming that's what they did) it might have been different.
Decent showing over two legs.

Great result!

They really should be beating teams like us!!   ;D ;D ;D

Nine points off the relegation places and only six of the play-off places.
It's ok, I'm not getting carried away. I'm more than happy with mid-table obscurity.

This could quietly be one of the defining moments of our season if we can win this  - and get 9 points away from the bottom four (or 5 if woking lose)

Fully agree, in fact discussed the exact same thing with someone else earlier.

A very good test of where we currently are to be fair, away from the runs of defeats / wins we've had. FGR are in a somehwat false position and our performance (if not necessarily the result) will be an interesting barometer of our level.

Yep. Could be a tricky one. FGRs results have been a bit of a mixed bag. I think they'll definitely score and I'd settle for a draw.

Luton = Full-time but unprofessional attitude
Alty = Part-time but professional attitude

They gave us no respect. In the replay we should give them as much respect as needed to put on a professional display against them and not one shred more than that!

Come on Alty.

Good news.
Hopefully there'll be a decent crowd for the replay and win for Alty.

Black and red striped shirts, black shorts red socks

That'll be AC Milan then.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Entry prices for Luton

£20 is a bit steep for a league 2 club. I hope they are not going to charge £20 next season if they come down.

£20 does look a bit steep when you consider Pompey are charging the same for their UEFA matches. So you can see AC Milan for the same price as watching Luton...  Kaka or Cack ?

Congratulations Colin.
It's been a pleasure to see just a few of those hundred go in.

Everyone finished with the pride of a true craftsman.

What happened at Crawley?
H&W are the local team here. I went to the game when they beat Swansea at home. Terrific cup match.
But their team has changes alot since last year and they're not exactly ripping it up in the BS South.

Did Crawley put out a weakened team or were they complacent?  A warning to us this afternoon.

Come on Alty.... Luton away'ts (geddit? :-) )

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Little and Senior
« on: October 23, 2008, 08:45:31 PM »
Senior was ineffective on Saturday but he was playing wide on the right and the service to him and Little was generally poor.
We looked better when Johnson came on but that was probably because it meant we could bypass the midfield where the opposition were  better.
Johnson has looked effective in the games I've seen but I've seen others saying he's been less good in other games.
It would be good if Joe O'Neill could get some game time. We'll need him at some point in the season.

Altrincham FC First Team / Today
« on: October 18, 2008, 06:34:17 PM »
Just got back.Very disappointed.
We were definitely second best in the first half and only really looked like competing after Johnson came on.
We were completely dominated in the midfield. Passing was poor and they pressed hard and were quicker to the second balls.

Too many times when we did get the ball the man in possesion had no options and we ended up playing a long ball in teh air which was easily dealt with.

Little and Senior may be the right combination at home but if we're going to play this way away then I think Little and Johnson are a better combination.

The run had to come to an end but I'd have hoped for a better performance. I think we made them look better than they are.
