Another tough but winnable away fixture.
Similar starting 11 with Blyth in for Peers and Moult in for Richman (harsh on Richman)
Halifax 1-1 Alty (Hancock)
Going to miss the Three Pigeons as much as the live action

May have misheard PP but Colclough could feature? I would go back to Ceesay up top with Mooney and Kosylo out wide with Colclough and Blyth to come on.
I know Ceesay isn't a striker but he causes the CBs concern with his pace. He distracts both CBs which will bring the other 3 into play.
-
Who is this Blyth?
-
I can't see Mooney or Colclough being match sharp to start.

Who is this Blyth?
I never recall seeing videos of Ken McKenna shopping for a wedding cake:

Thanks Cult,
also googled him,see he played for Macc

I predict the following team...
TT
Dens
Holgate
Hannigan
Connor
Moult
Smith
Kosylo
Hancock
Ceesay
Peers
Subs: Senior, Richman, Colclough, Mooney, Blyth...
Think may rotate Senior for Dens plus Moult in for Richman... doubt Mooney or Colclough fit enough to start... continue with no keeper on bench & last sub spot to Blyth... still don't think Peers is answer long term to main striker role but reckon he'll start again in this game...
Score prediction: Halifax 1-2 Alty (Hannigan, Kosylo)...
COYR! :)

I Wikipedia'd him too. Not many goals there since 2011 but I think he's had a disjointed career.
Time for a change! 😉
Welcome Jacob. We're all on your side here and hoping you can make a real impression for us.

At least a point, potential for a saucy away win.
-
Another tough one, but I note it will be Halifax’s 8th match in all competitions since the start of December (compared to our four) so one where our part time status and the ridiculously quick turnaround time might not make a huge negative difference, both sides will be fatigued no question. It’s not going to be an exhibition of free-flowing football on either side I suspect.
Time for Kosylo to reward his high class performances with his first goal for us on his return to the scene of past glories, that’s how it normally works in this game. Also like Mooney to get a longer run out as he’s top drawer once fit. Moult presumably to feature although Richman did nothing wrong on Boxing Day, but we are undoubtedly a stronger team with Jake in it. We’ll definitely see more of the ball than against County so hope we can be as clinical as we were against Stockport.
I’ll take another point tomorrow but with our away record I wouldn’t be surprised with all three, fingers crossed...

Blyth has had a few Spartan seasons!

No snow whatsoever in Halifax. I’m up the road from the shay on the A58 above Rochdale been no snowfall whatsoever up here. No sign of any past Bolton

Many thanks for the update from our more local correspondent. ☺

Not being awkward but with changes it cannot be the same starting eleven as you initially advocate
-
Fancy us for another 3 points today. 3 - 1 Alty..

Thought we should have won that in the second half today....
Difficult clutch of games coming up now...
Onwards and upwards
-
We were worth a draw, but I didn't think we did enough to win.
-
Some good stuff in part but at times we were positively pedestrian.
-
Shouldn't have lost that. However the team we had out at the end probably is how we should carry on the season. Just need to find a place for Kosylo as well.
-
Frustrating, as although we were undeniably very poor defensively today, we should still have come away from there with a point, as they looked equally suspect at the back. Alas, Colclough has missed a sitter in the final 10 minutes.
Peers was anonymous and Blyth made no discernible impact. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the quest to identify a significant replacement for Hulme persists.
Jeff King looked lively for them.

Agree with all that. Thought Mooney looked excellent when he came on too. We’ll be on the back foot at Stockport on Friday so will need to be very sharp at both ends, more so than we were today. I note on their forum and on the stream commentary we are getting plenty of compliments off the ‘Fax fans which is always good to see. I also thought we should have had a penalty towards the end, it certainly looked like one on the video.

Difficult watch as so zoomed out, but agree with most comments, thought we deserved at least a point. Can't comment on there penalty as couldn't see the incident on the stream, thought we should have had one late on for a clear handball. Colclough should have equalised as well.
Really caught cold at beginning of second half for there goal, so frustrating. Tom gives 100% but in this league is far better coming off the bench in my opinion. Hopefully the striker position will be resolved soon with existing players or new blood.
-
That's 1 point from six points with Peers starting in the past week. He was good enough to beat a midtable regional league side like Chester which perhaps shows his level.
Compared that to 15 from 18 from the previous 6 league games.
Blyth or Cisse need to start on Saturday.
I'd have liked to see Tom Peers come on around 70 minutes and bully the defenders for 20 minutes; let Blyth or Cisse stretch them.

I had to think a short while about the last sentence before the penny dropped. I was trying to recall seeing three resident pigeons sitting on the roof of the stand opposite. Only drawback, if it is one, was decide which superb ale to choose and getting served on match days. Getting double rounds helped. Then remembering which direction the ground was when leaving.
-
Shouldn't have lost that. However the team we had out at the end probably is how we should carry on the season. Just need to find a place for Kosylo as well.
Kozzy's our 'Bruno Fernandes' in terms of the impact he's made and what he demands of others - let's make him Number 10 and stick Hanks up top where he'll be more prolific than any of our other strike options. Colclough and Mooney as inverted wingers, Blyth as our Kyle Perry option, and Ceesay / Peers off the bench too.
I actually thought we looked like a team that were part time with only 48 hours rest - we've certainly played worse but can't complain too much at the outcome. Their 2nd and 3rd were both very well taken and we certainly allowed them far too much space.
As long as we don't suffer too many more injuries, we've got terrific squad depth now I think.
Jeff King was excellent for them and the lad on loan from Hull, Chadwick, looked a class act too.
-
Is Kosylo available ? According to John Laidlar's site his booking at Halifax was his fifth.

I don't think he is, but not 100% sure

Better off looking at Dudley from Chester.
100th appearance - 53 goals/assists in 77 starts
-
Definitely worth looking at is Dudley
-
If you believe Chester's managers then their squad plays for free... so could definitely be worth a look!
-
Was thinking about Dudley too.
I think he was quite frustrating and inconsistent in his Salford days and early in his Chester career too - but he was only a young lad, clearly has quality and seems to have found his feet.
From Chester I've always liked Glendon - and Declan Weeks seems to have been a good signing for them too.
-
A good number of the Chester lads have shown massive loyalty to their management duo - Dudley is one of them. It's quite refreshing actually. Glendon, I'd have in a heartbeat but I suspect he'll go higher.

How the ref could see that was handball on the blindside is beyond me. I still cannot see for sure. Also no Halifax player in sight so no need to handle if Peers did.. Could have defended better for both goals that followed, for the third was the ball to high for Thommo to have a go at getting? seemed flat footed. Our goals were good and Colclough should have scored near the end..
-
I thought he was unsighted for the third. It was a sucker punch to come so soon after half time. Credit to the lads that their heads didn't go down at that point.
