Have to say that all of the players spoke very well during the interviews. Very impressive. When we first started some 9 years ago there were a few ropy ones almost as if their brains switched off when the camera switched on. Maybe a sign of the social media age?

Alty TV have been second to none with footage in non league.

But special credit must go to John Edwards for bringing the best out of his subjects. It's a fine and very rare gift. Seriously. Dial-up any random footballer interview on whatever platform you choose, it'll be bland crap, mostly. Thanks John, the art of interviewing...

This 100%. John did a magnificent job, reeling out interview after interview and, as you say, getting the absolute best out of each subject. I'm not sure if people realise what a skilled art this is. We are incredibly lucky at Altrincham FC to have in both John and Brian two great, broadcast quality interviewers - it's such a difficult skill to get right.

As well as the above, I think Parkie is targeting players with intelligence as well as ability as - IMHO - he looks for players who don't need instruction and use intelligence and initiative on the pitch. This intelligence is coming out in the excellent interviews.

On the subject of Jake, what the club has done in the last three years has also been under Jake's captaincy. I know Parky and Neil have led the team as management, but I really appreciate what Jake has done leading the team on the pitch. Jake's importance cannot be under-estimated; he and his team have been absolutely superb over the last three years. No one deserves this two year extension more than Jake Moult.

At the time I thought it was odd, the old guard were leaving and Parky was refreshing it, to pick moult out of those that remained, offer a contract plus captaincy was a masterstroke.  Jake has paid it back in spades.
