"Loyalty to a football club is heightened by the shared pain of defeat" according to research by psychologists at Oxford University. Apparently, powerfully negative experiences such as relegation (or losing 6-0 at home ?) can reinforce the club's support.

I look forward to seeing all those of you who sneaked out at half time on Tuesday at Gainsborough tomorrow.
