I think we had him last season and he was generally okay from memory

"Mr Cummins was also, coincidentally, the referee of our most recent home game against next Saturday's visitors, Burton Albion. In that match, won 2-1 by the Brewers, he booked six Alty players and left the field to a chorus of booing at the end of the game. He also reffed the Alty v Dagenham game earlier last season in which he allowed a goal to be scored into an empty net from a quick freekick when the ball was moving, with Alty keeper Coburn stranded."

The above is a quote from the John Laidlar site!

Looks like your memory's a little dodgy! ;)

Are you thinking of Macc 1 Alty 5 on Boxing Day 1978?  (Which wasn't bad at all, actually) or is this some long lost Cheshire League clash.

Champions vs Runners-up at the end of 1967/8 season at Macc when, after the game, they were presented with the Cheshire League championship trophy in front of the remnants of the crowd consisting mostly of Alty fans after the home fans left early!

There was no programme for that game, just a team sheet - but I've got it and treasure it!!!!

Macclesfield 1, Altrincham 6 for me

Altrincham 3, Leatherhead 1 and the odd goal win against Yeovil to lift the APL   :D

Cheer up Jimmy, at least you'll be able to see Burton crashing to defeat over the weekend.

Going for a Burton infact.

Ours are still going up nicely - we should exceed last season with a bit of luck (with Vics and Oxford to come) and that was our highest for 16 years I believe!

Bringing Mrs Saughall again this Saturday and she's never see them lose - hope this is a good sign  ;)

I can see us getting at least a draw in each of them - and we might just sneak a win in one (Hope it's against Vics!)

Let's be gready and ask Santa for both!!

That would do me fine!  :)

Knowing Alty though, we'll probably banjo them here in the cup and get beaten 1-0 there in the league!  ::)

I'd swap a cup win against Tamworth for 3 points there in the league game though!

i think your all allowed in there afterwards- hopefully you can make it in for a few after the game. Good luck...and dont be too upset when we kick your arses!  ;)

That's not very friendly behaviour for the club bar is it?

You SURELY don't mean on the field I take it?   ;)

I thought £15K.

I bet accy try to do something like giving us less than the 50% we're due and offering us a cut of the sell-on clause they negotiate with Swansea.

If we've any sense (and we have) we'll insist on the cash - but I wouldn't put another stroke past their chairman. :-\

If they're kind enough to let us have 3 points on Saturday, I'll love them forever!  :D

almost wore my shorts

I did! (But then I always do - I'm a bit daft like that!)

A couple of large whiskies before and after usually warms me up when necessary

Willie Mailey must have been one of the smallest Goalkeepers around (and one of the best at the time too)

Had to smile a bit though,

It reminded me of the two "Swindells Kids" who used to be careering round the ground occasionally in the late 60's whilst their dad banged the goals in.
