Altrincham FC First Team / Re: CCC
« on: May 15, 2024, 11:15:33 PM »
At the risk of being bannished to that place in East Cheshire beginning with ‘M’ one observation i have on CCC over the last few games of the season was that he seemed desperate to get on the scoresheet rather than looking at who was around him in the box that were in better positions to ‘slot the ball’ home. Certainly a couple of chances at Bromley and there were a number of frustrated reactions as to why he shot instead of passed from his team mates in the box. Maybe its the ‘selfish striker’ mode i dont know, but as good as CCC is maybe , and im not saying he isnt before i write this, a more team focus no 10 is needed. I wouldnt want to see him leave as his skill is great but maybe his awareness in the box could be worked on and trick the opposition into thinking he is playing 23/24 style of ‘going it alone’ to draw defenders into him but then break out 24/25 style to pass to those unmarked so the team benefits from his ability scoring more next season

Just my thoughts. And getting packed ready for the knock on the door from the extradition team to cart me off to ‘M.;?)?;ld

Looking forward to 2024 season

Just wondering if those non-ST holders who bought tickets for the ‘Fax game will be offered Bromley ticket rather than a refund. ?

Just got back from the game and have to say the Ref was appalling and let Dorking do exactly as they did at ML - shirt pulling, pushing, late challenges by Dorking on our front line  all going unpunished until the last 10 minutes. How their no 19 & 25 made it through 90 minutes is beyond me. Well done to  Regan & Alex for riding the storm. Just a shame Wilson fell for their antics
Onwards and upwards Alty

I would give it to Ethan.
When he was sidelined through injury he was present on the sidelines and when the team was warming up he was actively encouraging the crowd to get behind the team. Now back between the posts he continues to encourage that support and acknowledges the support given too the team. That to me is a player committed (hopefully) to the club.

It is good to see in recent games, the players acknowledging the support before the game as well as after. I just hope, whatever happens in April we are able to keep our key core players to take us onwards in the 24/25 season

Given the weather forecast for rain most of today are there any plans for a late pitch inspection ?

Am down in Essex now and air temperature is barely above freezing and clear skies so likely a heavy frost again tonight on top if what already seems pretty frozen
Is there any indication of the time of any pitch inspection ?
Suspect it will need to be early to allow notice to be given to us travelling fans

Watching on TNT and believe both CCC and Osbourne got booked for kicking the ball into the crowd after the ref had blown fir frre kicks against Alty.
Have seen other ‘pro’ players do the same and get away with it - clearly a ref who clamps down on it.
Have to say i wouldnt watch a North v South gane on TNT again……think they must have sponsorship rights with Bromley - youd have though Alty were bottom of the league the way they spoke down about us and how unbelieveably brilliant everything about Bromley was!!
Well done to those who travelled to watch live and good result

Personally thought it was ok except for about 2-3 mins before halftime.

I am intrigued as to what the purposes of the stewards at the games is.
Last three games i have been ‘wanded’ at the Golf Rd end with 2 phones and big bunch of keys in my pocket plus significant amount of change in my pocket and not once has the ‘alarm’ gone off on the ‘wand’ - was it turned on??
Then we have at the Notts game 2 stewards stood watching fans smoking in the GR end without intervening ( under the impression the stadium is no smoking) incl last couple games the ‘wiff’ of cannabis being smoked.
Having been stood in the GR End since the i started watching Alty in the late 70’s, i am finding the stewards horrendous and dont see why they are there - certainly not effective in crowd control if that is their purpose. In most cases they look as if sone ine says ‘boo’ then they will run a mile - as i suspect happened at the away end. If we have to have some form of stewards / crowd control and we have to pay for it then we need to be getting value for money - the current providors are not.
The suggestion of the club investing in its fanbase to help with stewarding could be advantageius when we go to away matches as we could ‘self-police’ as the home stewards would know which of our fans to watch out for - though pleased to say i dont believe we have a trouble making element - never had ….. we’d rather ‘f&&k than fight we’re the Alty fusilers’!!

Certainly seemed more than 318 in the away end
Wonder if there is a trend to under report the away support especially as there was certainly more that 663 of us for the Trophy game at York
