"Histon's new chief executive Gordon Boateng believes that the side can achieve Football League status in the future. The Stutes currently occupy 16th place in the league standings after 18 games, but that hasn't stopped Boateng from announcing his ambitious vision for the club.
He told Cambridge News, 'From our perspective this year is about stabilisation and we're looking for a mid-table finish. We're going to plan to push again to get back into the (Blue Square Bet) Premier and establish ourselves there and then one day look to get into the Football League because that's where the club has always wanted to be. There's a great opportunity to do it with young players providing we can do it within the infrastructure. We've got a good manager in place in David Livermore, and everybody is working together and singing from the same hymn sheet. But we've got to make it sustainable and make sure things are done the right way. It's a great club and we've got all the foundations you need'. "
You get 300 at home, the majority of whom are children from connected junior teams. You're not going to get in the football league ever.
