Preview: Rushden and Diamonds v Alty

ALTY'S four-game streak against teams in the bottom half of the table comes to an end tomorrow as they visit Rushden.

At the end of January, manager Graham Heathcote had targeted the current sequence of games as a major chance to pick up points.

So far they have managed five points from three games and will be hoping to pick up something at 17th-placed Rushden before embarking on two nightmare away trips to promotion challengers Torquay United and Exeter.

With fellow strugglers Farsley and Northwich facing seemingly winnable games against Woking and Weymouth respectively tomorrow, the Robins will be keen not to concede any ground in the battle for Blue Square Premier survival.

After Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Farsley, they remain five points clear of the relegation zone, although their Yorkshire rivals still have two games in hand.

Alty's only major doubt for tomorrow's trip to Nene Park is Robbie Lawton, who picked up a knock during Tuesday's game.

Meanwhile, winger Carlos Logan left the club earlier this week.
