The legendary David Birch - evicted?!
« on: February 09, 2008, 09:11:04 PM »

Did anyone else spot the aforementioned David Birch being escorted out of the ground near the end of today's game?

He appeared to be in the Droylsden end and involved in some sort of altercation near to the home team's dugout.

Bizarre....

If he is thick enough to go into the wrong end of a segregated ground and start a row he deserves all he gets. He's old enough to know better.

If legends like Dennis didnt exist where would all the great terrce tales come from ? Its characters like him that make going to Alty special!

If someone in their 20's behaved like that they would be called hooligans/thugs. Old age does not excuse such behaviour.

Those two are both liabilities, i saw one of them having a fight the other week with a home fan. Is he the guy that isn't dealing with a full deck of cards and if u say anything to tell him to be quiet due to his racism or language he always threatens to get the police on  you?

Having known Dennis Birch for many years due to my time running clubs in the Altrincham area, i must say some of the comments on here are quite out of order. Everyone knows dennis and his brother were not blessed with the intelligence that many on here peport to have but they are both lovely people and because of their disability tend to get carried away when excited, usually when watching there beloved Alty. I think serious double standards are at work here, especially when some forum regulars on here boast about "running onto the pitch to remonstrate" or getting totally p***ed and making idiots of themselves. think about who you are slagging off, look at yourselves and thank whose ever god you worship it is not you with the same disability, YES DISABILITY!!!!!!

Making racist and/or offensive remarks is not a disability.

Total sh*t MATE
I have been to many games when they have been saying stuff and to be quite honest it's not on. On boxing day he was shouting racist remarks to the vics forward, and at the same game he hold a guy watching the game quite happily with his kids to go f*ck himself. Now thats not a disability its just dam right ignorance to others around you. Following on from this the guy tried to have a fight with another fan at the Kidiminster game for asking him to watch his language. So for you to come on hear and say he's a great fan and this and that, your talking out of your rectrum! He gives a bad name to the club, and yes you get tossers at all clubs but when they deliberatly go into the home end to abuse the managing staff, are you being honest with your self here that he is not out of order.

Having been in and around Dennis on a few occassions, yes he does get carried away. David did get involved in an altercation at the York game with a fella I watch the match with at most home games. David in the altercation was insistent that Alty were going down, to which he was told to shut up and walk away (which.... obviously he didn't!) hence the 'discussion'

I don't dispute that these guys love alty and want the best for the team, or that they want to speak their mind, but irrespective of this, they should both keep themselves to themselves and keep their gobs shut, otherwise they ultimately will end up in "disagreements" with both home and away fans!
