Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Maidenhead Match Thread
« on: February 24, 2024, 12:51:15 AM »
I usually leave around 12.00 to go to home games,  does anybody think that there is a risk of it not being on.
Cheers

I think it will be fine. Crucially there’s no rain forecast tomorrow & should actually be some sun a couple of hours before kick off. If there was going to be a pitch inspection (assuming part time Maidenhead will just be travelling up on the day) sure it would have been announced by now as guess they’d need to leave no later then about 0930. Pitch will be heavy again needless to say.

Cheers SLA

As others have said, there is still plenty to play for, we win our game in hand and we are back in the play offs. At the end of the day it’s where we are at the end of the season that really matters.

Knowing Alty, I expect watching them play Maidenhead will be an enjoyable experience.

Onwards and Upwards.

Looks like we're going to find out how good our squad is tonight

I was just thinking the same. An interesting selection, not sure wholesale front line swaps is the way ahead but, Phil P knows best..

He was asking people who are all ready regular fans of Alty. They need to aim their request at the non attenders

Bad day at the office but still 5th, you can’t expect them to win all games.. hopefully they give a good reaction on Tues.

I think it will be a few games yet if it was a cracked rib as reported

Perhaps an option could be to put the main stand where the pop side is now, then the moss lane. Side wouldn’t need such a high replacement stands compared with the present one.

Maybe more of a possibility with the next Government when you'd like to think the trend in council funding might be reversed...?

Don’t hold your breath

The main asset of the club is indeed the players, equally as important, is the pitch. From reading the statement from the acting CEO I am of the opinion that moving Alty FC to another location isn’t an option, let’s hope the weather turns a bit dryer in the next 3 months. The whole country has been soaked in water for the last 6/7 months

Perhaps the council are after opening a sailing club…

I don’t understand why the club couldn’t publish updates throughout the day.

I live in Shropshire and I leave around 5-00pm to get to Moss lane, in plenty of time.

The club sadly do not seem to bother keeping fans updated other than when they want you to purchase something.

The communication side of the club needs to improve… it’s a two way thing.

This pitch situation is going to cost us points later in this season when we are playing catch-up… Not the fault of the ground staff, but questions need asking about the company who rebuilt the pitch a couple of years ago and whether the drains installed were adequate, or is there some other problem stemming from the design
